Does anyone know of any good wedding shower games to play? I'm planning my sister's shower now and I need some good ideas! Thanks!

My favorite shower game

As each guest arrives, ask them to write on an index card their name, their least favorite household chore and the reason why they dislike it. "I hate _____ because __________."

Once you've collected all the cards, swap them around so that no one has their own.

Have everyone read the card they're given, replacing the name of the chore with the word "sex." Then everyone else tries to guess whose card it is and what the household chore actually was.

You can get some pretty funny responses.

I just recently went to a bridal shower for the wedding that I am a bridesmaid in. My job was to get the games. Here are the two that I played:
Game #1:
Go to your local craft store and buy a premade bouquet(or make one yourself), I found one that was on clearance for $2!!! So be sure to look in the clearance section. Then at the shower explain to the guests that when the bride throws the bouquet at the reception, she most likely already has someone in mind. The game is for 'practice'. Then either use spray paint outside or something circular inside to represent 'the special someone'. Have a designated spot 10 yards away where the guests can throw the bouquet from. Mark each guests spot with something heavy that has their name on it(I tried to used little pieces of paper, but they were too light and when a guest threw the bouquet close to anothers, it blew it away a little), and the person closest to 'the special someone' wins. Everyone loved the game, and raved that it was 'new'.

Game #2:
Wrap a nice present 8-10 times(when I found this game it said to wrap it 20-25 times, but I thought that it was a little excessive)using different colored wrapping paper. Then at the shower have everyone sit or stand in a circle. Have the bride face away from the guests(so she can't see). Play music and have the bride stop the music periodically. When the music starts playing have the guests pass the present around the circle. Whenever the bride stops the music, the guest holding the present unwraps a layer. The person who unwraps the last layer wins the prize.

Another game that I found but didn't use was a game that didn't give a prize away, but it still looked funny. Ask the groom to fill a duffel bag with HIS clothes(including underwear, socks, maybe gloves, etc.). Then at the shower blindfold the bride and explain to the guests that it is the wedding night and the elecricity has gone out in the hotel and the bride has to get dressed. The bride ends up putting having certain items of clothing on the wrong body part.

Good luck!!

Have the bride to be come in the room with a tray full items--maybe household items. Give the guest a pen and paper. Tell the guests that this a memorization game and take notice of the bride. After about 5 minutes or so, send the bride away. Then ask the guests things like: What were the colors of her shoes? Was her watch gold or silver? Etc. The guests will be thinking that you will ask them things about what is on the tray and not pay attention to the bride at all.

I had a great one at my shower! At the shower, divide the ladies up into groups of four to six. Each group gets a little book. The maid of honor reads the book aloud, and everyone follows the directions. For example, one page might say something like blah blah blah pass the book to the oldest among you. Then the women figure out who in their group is oldest and hand over the book. The person holding the book at the end gets a prize.

I really liked this game because it got people talking. I have the computer files for this book if you'd like; just contact me directly.

I find most games pretty dumb, but the "Who knows the most about the bride" game is always fun. Fill out a questionnaire with the brides help and cover all aspects of her life so that grannie can get some points too. A lot of fun!

I recently went to one where the maid of honor had asked the groom questions about himself. (his favorite food, the name of his peewee football team, his favorite tv show, etc) and for each one the bride got right, she was given a hershey kiss. For each one she got wrong, she had to put a piece of bubble gum in her mouth. it was cute.
