with the war with iran is it bad to tel people that i am iranian

It would depend on the person. If you are dealing with with an uneducated red neck, not unless you knew them well. If a person is educated then I would say yes.

Feel proud of whatever nationality you are endowed with by birth or adoption. Pride in being an Iranian has reasons: A great nation,once a world power, an Empire,defeated Roman Empire,birthplace of a great prophet-Zarthusht,host to nascent Islam,produced classical Poets,mathematicians,astrologers,craftsmen,technologists,generals, and good kings. Is it your fault that the war is going on? Is even your fault that you are who you are? I THINK NOT. So why should it be bad that you are Iranian. You are not a product of the negative things that come out of your country nor is anyone. Besides you are not at war, and pray that war will never break out there.

People are narrow minded, but being ANY culture is not bad. It's just the way we evolved in the environments we evolved in. No, you are not bad.
BUT, your region does not regard life more important than religion. That leaves the rest of the World bewildered. So there lies the core of the problem you may be experiencing.
You are not bad, governments who allow war are bad. They do not respect life as much as they should. People, or a culture, are not bad.
Whenever I see questions regarding (self-)hate, I know there are no bad people--just poor decisions that led ppl to think so.
I say be proud of your hertiage! Be respectful of the culture you are in! And no one is "bad" that respects themselves as equally as they do others.

No, you should be proud of your culture. Most Americans (at least the smart ones) understand that most people in the Middle East are peaceful. Only a few are bad, like here in the US, most of us are peaceful, just the idiots in power want war. Tell everyone what you are & be proud! :)

Of course it's not bad. Don't be ashamed of your ethnicity just because there's a war going on in your country.. If people give you a hard time, it's only because they're ignorant and stupid.
