To aggitate thinking. to separate the wheat from the chaff of our thoughts. To gain perspective of others thinking, or if thinking is used, instead of a memorized script which represents the "offical story."
To stimulate converstation around diffferent perspectives. When two swords come together they become sharper.
To remove the chains of that which has been imposed so that the Freedom of ones thinking is employed to discern the validity of information previously learned. It has been the way of prophets and philosophers.
To discern the perspectives & behaviors that make up the Human family. To understand the veils of falsehood in the philosophies concerning Theism, Deism,Gnotism, Agnostisim, & Atheism. To understand the truths contained within each so that we can evaluate ourselves & our understanding.
The Divine Comedy of Declared Atheist who follow the "Golden Rule" & Declared Religious who Do NOT. If Declared Athesist can follow the Rule, what is the problem with the Declared Religious who do not. It would seem that the Declared Religious would excell the Declared Atheist in behaviour. I suppose among the Declared Religious there are Undeclared Atheist too blind to see the inconsistency of their actions and words.
We learn what is important as well as what should be important to people. We learn that some are flexible and some are not.
We learn that people share that which they have an abundance. Those that have an abundance of fear, disgust, hate, ignorance, insecurity, meanness, joy, Love, security, altruism, charity, knowledge, faith, hope, etc. share those very things.
It is said that Sex, Politics & Religion should not be discussed. Strange many Human problems center around these topics. Maybe open discussion will make us better and allow us to see the good in others and in ourselves without being self-righteous.

Because for some people they need to really know the answer to these questions or at least experience more then just their perspective.
Sometimes it's easier to see all sides of an equation when there are more then just your single experience is involved.
On the side line for those that get extreme, it gives a chance for people to stand up for what they believe in and express how or why it means so much to them.
It's healthy to get more then a single perspective on religion. : )

Because arguing is fun. It gives people a chance to butt heads, to see how much they know, and to make themselves feel better. However, on the flipside, if they lose the argument, they feel horrible.
That's why.

I was thinking about that earlier. Only in this category do we have people to deliberately insult, blaspheme, incite arguments, and use obscenities against God. It is very hateful and hurtful. I suppose it's people who are railing against God, foolish people, as if they could change on jot of history.

It's just that some bullies are cleverer than others.
I don't come here often just for that reason. I am not here for an argument.

I do it in an attempt to show people how absurd their beliefs are and how people who are in power use these beliefs to control them.
