Hand luggage will now be restricted to a few items, including wallets, spectacles and prescription medication, which must be carried in a transparent bag.

DO NOT pack the following items in your hand luggage:
· Toy/replica guns (metal or plastic)
· Catapults
· Household cutlery
· Knives with blades of any length
· Razor blades
· Tools
· Darts
· Scissors
· Tweezers
· Hypodermic needles (unless required for medical reasons)
· Knitting needles
· Sporting bats
· Billiard, snooker or pool cues
· Corkscrews

In addition to what has been barred for the last few years, now you are forbidden to have any container of liquids ( except baby formula, which will be examined). No drinks, no mouthwash, no tubes of toothpaste or shaving cream.
Not all luggage is being inspected, but it is being spot checked.
I had no trouble Sunday. Lines moved right along, but you never know if your bag will be opened and dumped out, so be prepaired.

Depends where you're flying from. I heard some airports are not allowing any carry-on whatsoever, just your passport and money in a clear plastic bag, while other airports are allowing normal carry-ons with the exception of any kind of liquid (toothpaste, shampoo, mouthwash, water)

Obviously nothing that has always been banned. Other than that, anything that is a liquid or something that is a semi-liquid, like chapstick. The only things that are liquid or semi-liquid that you can bring on are lipstick and baby formula. Toothpaste, mouthwash anything like that. When it doubt, pack it!

If you have a large clock in a parcel don't wind it up. Having a parcel that is ticking seems to bother them.
