"We have seen his Star in the East, and have (are) come to worship him". That claims to be the Eastern Stars motto. This is a quote from the Magi, or three wise men. I beleive this phrase can actually be found in Matthew, chapter 2, in the Bible. Now, since the Magi came from the East, would not this star be in the western portion of the sky from their vantage? Bear with me.

Ok, in black magick, the term "Eastern Star" is used to refer to Sirius. Ironically, the first star to be seen in the latitude/longitude of the Middle East. Sirius was associated with the Egyptian version of "Satan", Set. And, the inverted pentagram is the sign of Set or Sirius. Often associated with the worship of Satan as well.

Then the colors on the OES emblem. Blue, yellow, green and red. All represent the four magical elements of air, earth, water, and fire. All on the inverted pentagram. These women are invoking demons/dark forces into their lives, knowingly or unknowingly. Who are they worshipping?

Oh, and F.A.T.A.L.?? In the inner Pentagon within the pentagram of their emblem, there is a Holy Bible, open faced, with the letters F.A.T.A.L. at each point. Supposedly, it stands for, "Fair among thousands, altogether lovely." Interesting, to say the least. If these most of these women (and men) profess Christianity, why are they obviously pledging alleigiance to dark forces!! Hello?? Can it be any more blatent!!

WAKE UP!!!! IT'S RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE!!!

Mikayala- It is actually looking from Orion, South East. So, one can say it is in the East of the sky.

You are nuts. Symbols mean different things to different groups. Just cause they talk about 'eastern star' doesn't mean that they mean the same thing by it as another group that talks about 'eastern star.'
They mean the star of bethlehem and the other group means Sirius. There is no correlation. Unless you want to say the star of Bethlehem was Sirius. . .

Besides, Sirius is best seen in the Southern sky, it is never due east.
EDIT: LOL It is best seen in the south where I live anyway. But that was a very minor point.

And air, earth, water, and fire are just the classical elements, from before people learned about atoms and the periodic table.

I'll repeat what I said before--you're nuts.
