The ingredients on the box are:

Poly(methylvinylether/maleic acid), Sodium-calcium mixed partial salt, cellulose gum, aroma.

So it must be Poly(methylvinylether/maleic acid).

This is also the main ingredient in Polygrip (Which is named after this chemical btw). And also Fixodent.
