Funny, I believe in evolution above other more abstract explanations for our existence and life on this planet. Having worked in medicine and science for close to 15 years I have seen to many things that could not be explained in any logical sense. I have always seen those that look to intelligent design as an explanation as trying to find a compromise. For example the corpse flower mimics the smell of rotting flesh to attract insects for pollination. How does a flower know what rotting flesh smells like let alone get the chemical combination just right to make this happen?

Yes. I believe in 6 LITERAL days and God rested on the 7th. Any other interpretation, gap theory, millions of years, evolution etc is solely man's OPINION and NOT scripture. Evolution doesn't hold water. Evolution is solely dependent on the big bang theory. The big bang and evolution together can not answer...
where the two pieces of matter that collided came from;
what the ACTUAL probability of two of these correct pieces of matter meeting at the right time, at the right place, at the right speed, at the right angle, with the right atmospheric or lack thereof to produce things as we know it;
how a cell in the ocean morphed itself into a fishlike creature;
how this fishlike creature began to breathe air and why it would want to do so;
how and why it decided to go on land;
how it morphed itself into all the different species;
how out of this it was able to morph into a human being which is the only creature on earth with the ability to speak logically, reason, and feel emotion;
how plants survived before they "learned" photosenthesis;
why the holy grail of evolution (Berkley) says on its site that this is what the BELIEVE to be true but is not fact;
And all the gap theories etc about the Bible have as many holes in them too.
All scientific answers is man's best GUESS. There is NO absolute fact, try as he might and as smart as he thinks he is. People think since we get in a car and it takes us where we are going (sometimes) and you can turn on a computer and do most anything (sometimes) man can put a date on things billions of years ago based on things they "think" happened. Problem is, man makes mistakes and evolution is just one of the many.
I have a choice. I can fold in to your way of thinking so I don't get made fun of and then have to answer to God, OR I can allow you to scoff at me and then let YOU answer to him. I choose the latter. Atleast I can say you have been told, you will have no excuse.
There is only ONE True God.

Belief in evolution justified the excesses of the industrial revolution, the Nazi elimination of the Jews, and the rise of Marxism and Communism. It also serves as the justification for the disbelief in God. Although modern evolutionists try to distance themselves from the consequences of taking their theory into a social realm, these historical atrocities are the result of taking evolutionary philosophy to its logical conclusion. If we are a product of biological forces why not extend these forces into our own dealing with other humans? Animal groups do not lament wiping each other out in order to survive. Why shouldn't we do the same if we are just part of an evolutionary process that formed us? Creation is the event that ultimately gives us life value because it links every human's values to their Creator who loved him enough to die for him.
There is abundant scientific evidence that macro-evolution has never taken place. The fossil record shows no credible links between major groups of plants and animals; the chemical structure of DNA contains useful information which could not have developed by natural process; and there is abundant evidence for a worldwide flood which contradicts evolution. Evolution is a philosophy unsupported by the majority of scientific observations whose influence has been a detriment to society and true scientific advancement.

no evidence...really? Proteins are so hard to make that in all of nature, they never form except in already living cells. Never! This scientific fact! Evidence that life never comes from non-living materials is so abundant that it is a basic principle of science called the Principle of Biogenesis (living things come only from living things). Each cell is contained inside a two layer membrane made of lipids [fats).{Bruce Alberts, Essential Cell Biology, An Introduction to the Molecular Biology of the Cell, 1998, p. 348, 363} Lipids are only formed by living cells.

That's why it's called faith. There doesn't need to be evidence. Do you really believe that just somehow all of the right molecules decided to form something and then they said, "Hey, I need legs" and pop here come some legs and so on. It is called faith for a reason.

I agree with you, absolutely. Intelligent design does not present from a scientific standpoint, it can only be supported by faith. That those pushing intelligent design tried to give it a scientific sounding label is one sort of evidence though - evidence that they are fully aware they can't insert their chosen faith into our public schools without chicanery. It's ludicrous in the extreme.

The job of scientific disciplines is to manipulate nature for man's benefit. There is no reason to ascribe to science the function of explaining creation and what is outside of the physical realm.

i completly disagree i have attended several creationist seminars unfortuantly schools don't show the evidence for creation. i have many documents proving creation and disproving evolution if you would like e-mail me @ hawkrisesagain@yahoo.com and i will see if i can get it to anyone that wants it. i downloaded it from some evolutionists that started to see problems in their evolution and from some creationist scientists. We have evidence it just doesn't get shared. if anyone would like it e-mail at the above adress and i'll see if i can get it for you.

what about evolution due to an intelligent design ?
could it not be possible that a creator created a place that would evolve and climatise etc ?
