That's a great price for the Hybrid, which stickers at around 42k with all of that equipment.

Definitely do not pay more than MSRP. You can look that up for your area by going to http://www.toyota.com/highlander and inputting in your ZIP code under the "Build and Price your Highlander" option on the left.

You may want to ask on an owners list, such as:
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/highlander_hybrid/
http://www.hihychat.com/

and the more local:

Just be sure to purchase new before the US Federal income tax credit for Toyota/Lexus hybrids drops on Oct. 1, 2006!

Is this a 2005? You can usually save a bundle if it is this years model at this time. That is something to concider with the low depreciation costs of foreign vehicles.

But, here is something to look at:

MSRP Invoice:
$30,460
National Base Price (excludes destination charge):
$27,108

for 2006 Toyota Highlander
Limited 4dr SUV w/3rd Row (3.3L 6cyl 5A)

Hope this helps!

Last year I bought an Accord through carsdirect.com (I live in the Bay Area, too). Check their price with your options. Not having to deal with a salesman/manager made it much more pleasant.
