My favorite breed of dog is the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen or PBGV for short. They are a fun, active, shaggy haired hound dog that originated in France about 400 years ago. They really weren't bred here in the USA much until the 1980's so they aren't real common yet, but my two keep me laughing, entertained, and busy.

Newfoundland dog..the gentle Giant one of the best I ever had. but they require hours of grooming and DROOL. I now live in the south and unless I dig a hole for a huge pond, cant see getting one.
Right now I have 2 jack Russel terriers and 2 pit bulls

I love pitbulls they are the most loyal dogs I have ever had, a little dumb sometimes, but in an innocent way.....but my friend just gave me a puppy that's half pit and half beagle and she's so cute I wish it were an actual breed. :) What would you call it a piggle?

Boston Terrier. We have a female that is just over a year old. We couldn't be happier with our decision! She is very fun and extremely cute!

if you look for play alone your choice is good.But an extra dose of friendliness,intelligence and adaptability can be the case with labrador retrievers. it is said that a labrador must be the first dog in a family! if you look for extra dedicated and 'one-mannish' behaviour, a german sheperd or boxer come great!

My favorite dog is a Bernaise Mountain Dog. They are the most loving dog I have ever seen.
