Yes, it is. And I think the parents should be shot for letting them out of the house the way they do.
And why are clothes even made in those sizes, anyway? What kind of pedophile is designing that stuff?

Girls are growing up they will have sex, 99% jchance they will suck willy, spit swallow and do all the things young women have done over the last several thousand years... accept it...
But
clothes shouldnt be sexualised until they are of an age where they can handle unwelcome male advances.
Thats not a set age and it will occur before that and its the parents job to teach them to fight before that is necessary.
Female sexaulity is POWER... you 11 year old sees that... They see the older girls control boys with this power, get free cinema tckets, meals and attention and want some...
its like the boys seeing touchness and money gets you what you want...
But you are right saying that an 11 is not ready for that power, just like a sports car...
but what you need to stomach is its your job to train them for that power, to understand it, to teach how to fight and inflict pain to get attention and respect ie think hand lock to exttract an aploogy and show whos boss.

I wouldn't allow my daughter to wear inappropriate clothes like the ones you describe, she's only 8 and has no more business wearing a crop top than a gorilla does wearing a tuxedo.
I think a lot of it is down to role models, a lot of women don't think about what kind of messages they are sending their daughters when they choose what they wear day to day. By dressing in a provocative manner, all that will happen is that you will get attention for all the worst reasons.
Little girls want to dress this way, because mum does...mum does...because Jordan does..and Posh spice does and these are the kind of role models that some women aspire to be like.
There are women who treat their children almost like mini fashion accessories and have them decked out on each side of them like two great burburry earrings or something.
All children need is clothing appropriate for playing in, they do not need designer clothing, or to look like a miniature footballers wife. The fault doesn't lie with the child, it lies with the sheep mentality parent being a spoon-fed victim of media lies

I agree i'm shocked that girls under 10 can buy thongs and even more shocked that their parents would allow this. However, I also think that kids stuff has been sexualised for example a school uniform. This may then make young girls atttractive to the wrong people

Everything that you say Baz is very true. My partner works as a secondary school teacher, and she see's it all !
She says that these days the girls coming into school are wearing all the latest designer labels, have all the latest mobile phones and IPods, even wear more makeup than she does!.
It is the way society has changed, or is changing. When their parents generation was growing up, it wasn't to the extremes you see nowadays.
The media and everywhere you look are the reason for this, commercials, television, billboards, internet, cinema... we are so much more exposed to all this nowadays, with less boundaries on sex, violence, drugs etc.
Teens feel that they are under alot of pressure when growing up, and as you say it isn't healthy, when you have a girl in her early teens wearing a VERY shirt skirt, or revealing top.
At that age, they are so innocent and vulnerable....
It's a balance between constantly looking out for them (as parents), and not making them feel your being too influential either.

I'm a sixteen year old girl and would never dream of dressing the way some children dress. I feel so old saying this, but its disgusting. When you're a young adult, its different. You're mature. You know what you're speaking about. You understand what sex is and can look after yourself. Until then, its just not right. It makes these girls vulnerable and why they may think it makes them mature, it just shows how immature they really are. Kids bandy around the word "sexy" without knowing the real meaning of the word.

Agreed and I raise the stakes by adding t-shirts with phrases on them, that are often far from suitable. The other day in the toy shop I saw one of the Bratz dolls, I had not really paid attention to them before - Bling doll, which in itself is bad enough to give a child, but it had the shortest mini I have seen on a doll.
The way things are in the world today, with children being grabbed from their homes, children risking their health and well-being from underage sex...it makes me wonder why society, fashion world, toy makers, etc. are encouraging this sort of thing, obviously not suitable for children. Granted these things don't make children have sex early or make them targets for perverts, but it does help to back up the idea to them that this sort of thing is ok, when for children it is just not suitable.
Then in the end, it all comes down to the parents, and very few seem to give a damn.

it is shocking and that's properly half the problem why such bad things happen to children. if feel the world has gone crazy nobody seems to care . Ive see children dressing like the work on street corners. i find it disgusting that when i go to buy my girls shoes 9 and 4 i come across knee high boots and skirts that wouldn't even cover them up. what are these tops that say come get me boys or two hand on the front a sick joke .

I agree its shocking, when we all dressed like the girls on Little house on the prairie honestly correct me if I'm wrong but I doubt there were half as many paedophiles as there are now. 11 year olds look 18 I tell you what! its a sad sad world but mothers have to blame for buying kids those type of clothes.

I agree, I have an 11 yr old and if she ever thought she could dress like that she would get a major reality check, I think a huge part of kids dressing this way is lack of parenting, if parents actually put there foot down kids wouldn't be dressing this way.
