No. Border towns are always funky. Even cities in Indiana that border illinois are kind of weird. You can get cheap cigarrettes there.

I've been to Mexico over 20 times and have been all over. Not all of it is like Tijuana but it is not a safe country and they do not like white people on the whole there. You will get robbed anywhere and the police will refuse to help you. Mexico is not a bad place it just has some major crime and corruption problems. It’s not Mexico's fault really either. It is due to the fact that it is so close to the USA. They see the lives being lived in the USA and want that. They see how hard it is in Mexico and grow to hate most Americans or think that all Americans are rich and don't have to work hard for their money.

All of Tijuana isn't like the Tijuana you've seen. As it happens, I go there every couple of years to buy Mexican law books (some Mexican law varies by state, like US law, but there is a very good law bookstore in town). I never see tourists there. Last time, we walked from the bookshop to Revolución, quite a jog.

But: there is scarcely any part of Mexico that isn't, in part, tainted by tourists. More's the pity. It wasn't that way in the 1950s.

I suppose the best Mexico has to offer is its anthropological sites.

But what do I know: I live in England.

I have never been to Tijuana, but I would bet it would be a pretty crappy place! Most border towns arent so great. But once you get past the border there are some really wonderful places! I like touristy beaches as much as the next person, but I have also seen places like Veracruz and Chiapas, and little colonial places like Tlaxcala and Puebla. I like all of them for different places. The only place that I have been to in Mexico that I didnt like was Ciudad Juarez.

No, that's like thinking that all the US is like Camden, NJ or Gary, IN.

I've been to Tijuana, Puerto Vallarta and Chihuahua. Mexico is a very unique and interesting and beautiful country.

first of all, the site's not working. second of all, that's only a few areas of Mexico. Most people can't even afford to live there.

It is not all like Tijuana.

But the part that illegally immigrates here tends to be.
