Instead of buying "fakes," stick it to the "rich companies" by buying their cheaper competitors. Theoretically, that will be more effective.

You are stealing the good names of companies that have worked hard and spent a great deal of money to build their reputations. Some people may actually think that the Rolex watch they bought for $250 is the real thing and be disappointed in its performance. Yeah, you're right... they should know that you can't get a Rolex for $250. However, not everyone is that savvy.
Those "rich" companies made a gamble with their money and could have lost it all if things had gone a little differently. You penalize their creativity and initiative when you buy cheap knock-offs.

If you go to a purse party and buy the fake Kate Spades and Luis Vuittons that actually say Kate Spade and Luis Vuitton, then yes, you ARE financing terrorists! Just a few levels up from the salesperson, too. Just like any illegal selling, like drugs, there are cartels and gangs and terrorists. Nobody NEEDS to spend a grand on a handbag that's gonna get wrecked anyway.

Because you're making people profit who are ripping off someone else's hard work. Just because they make a lot of money doesn't mean there aren't people being affected by this, especially the ones that actually make the stuff with their own hands.

NO, I personally dont think there is anything wrong with mocking a major clothing line or purses or stuff like that, but there is something wrong with putting their name on your mock merchandise

Many times the money you spend on these knock-offs goes to finance terrorist groups like Al-Queda

You would change your tune if it was YOUR product that was being ripped off. Do not think if it as a victimless crime. ALL crime is wrong.
Excuse me while I get off my soap box.
