For those who come legally, probably the food. I really really missed Thai food when I lived in the midwest, and the Mexican food selection was limited, as well.

I don't come into much deep contact with first generation immigrants, anymore, and the ones I do come into contact with are sort of of the universal brotherhood of business culture, which blunts differences. It is a shame. I used to love traveling, too, to see the different cultures, but things are becoming so 'globalized' that a lot of the individual charm of countries is becoming hard to find.

i love hearing all different languages being spoken (particularly true in new york city - riding the subway can be fascinating in this respect).

i love the cultural options provided by the diversity of cultures that are being brought in. i love that i can have a tasty senegalese dinner then go salsa dancing with my mexican friends, and then the next day go see chinese-american art at the asian art museum.

i LOVE the fact that some parts of the US (including where i live) will soon be white minority. i think that is the best thing that could happen to this country. the whites who respect and value racial diversity will appreciate their minority status, and those who don't will learn some valuable life lessons.

I live in a racially diverse city and I LOVE good ethnic food. African food, Mexican, Middle eastern, Indian, Afgan, Thai ~ Its all here and its all good. Thats not to say that this is all that living in a high immigrant populated area has to offer ~ there is so much more! I also love that my kids are exposed to children of other cultures, and have relationships that bring new ideas and experiences. It also brings a sense of sameness despite inherent differences. It is also great for them to live in a place where they get to see people of color and of other nationalities in positions of power. I really hate being in towns where nearly everyone is white and ignorant of the rest of the world.

Diversity, culture, language, and their dreams to accomplish things here. Except the illegal immigrants. They're not helping at all. But I love immigrants who come here. It's like the whole world is in this country (the US). It's so wonderful.

They brings drugs, disease, poverty, malcontent, crime, lack of education, extra mouths to feed, few marketable skills besides a strong back, disregard for the law, disrespect for the current culture of the country they are immigrating to...

Their culture and language.
I know I am one of the few Americans (or so it seems) who LOVE learning and conversing in new and different languages. I think its great. And its great to see rich cultures, because to me at least, America's culture is not rich or..interesting. They are also so different from anyone in this country because they are not brainwashed by the media and they are so fascinated by us and.. to be honest, I like the attention lol.

plus Spanish and Italian guys are really hot.

What I admire about immigrants is how they leave family and friends behind in order to build a better future.
