They are so adamant about putting down scientific theories as unproven. They really have no idea what they're talking about.

Being unproven is the nature of some theories. We have evidence to tell us it's true, but you could never prove that Jesus lived. Evidence is what theories are based on and judged by, not necessarily being provable.

A theory is a model that sets forth an idea that has been proven time and time again by thousands of different scientists and supported by tons of evidence while having nothing disproving it. The key part is that it has nothing disproving it. A theory is the closest one can get to a fact in science. Nothing is higher. A law which many believe is the absolute in science is a theory that has been observed in the past and can predict future events. So all laws are theories.

The word theory used in common terms is wrong. People that bash science theories are just too uneducated to know that. After all if they were educated they would not argue evolution and other such stuff.

this would be a reasonably super supposition on your section. Do you have information on your concept that creationists don't be conscious of what a word means? No, because you haven't any longer have been given any information. Your information is in hassle-free terms anecdotal. What length pattern did you employ on your exams? What controls did you contain on your technique to return up with this concept? What statistical technique did you employ and the place is the documentation? basically kidding. regrettably concept means supposition. Its the medical technique which means we leave stuff at concept because of the fact we can't be conscious of. If the universe replaced into moving basically top(no longer in hassle-free terms the galaxy) then in line with possibility the solar does orbit the earth. that's why its concept. no longer likely. there's a concept there's a being previous our comprehension, yet its in hassle-free terms a concept. lots greater in all probability than the universe revolving around the earth i could think of, yet nonetheless a concept. medical concept demands commentary, so no its no longer a similar ingredient. this is the genuine downside. in case you may not be conscious it in accordance to technological information it does not exist. the situation with scientists is they think of contained in the field because of the fact the interior the field is all they might see. The "mountain of information" is all contained in the field too. aside from the ridiculous (like God planting dinosaur bones to attempt to attempt our faith) there are creationists with an training and lifelike deduction skills. there is no longer a single piece of information that our nicely-known actual actuality is the only one that exists and neither human beings can coach in any different case. we are able to debate it without the strategies-set nevertheless. @Catherine Are you inebriated? I replied to the OP's question "Why do no longer creationists comprehend what a "medical concept" is?" i think of asserting creationists don't be conscious of the meaning of a word is a huge supposition.

I get what you're saying. Someone explained it well for me once:
A theory is no longer a hypothesis (educated guess) because it has been supported by evidence. This clearly does not mean it is proven, but they seem not to realize that it is more than just an idea, it has been substantiated with other scientific evidence.

Yes, people can be ignorant. In fact, a theory is a speculated opinion which should be able to be replicated and tested and proven. Further, that is why it is called a theory and not a scientific law... which is then a fact. However, one must remember that some scientific laws have even been proven to be false... so... I guess it all depends on which angle you are coming from as to who is ignorant and should be embarrassed!

Because they are not educated properly. Because they are happy to follow the teachings of their church without question. Because their parents are content to pass on the family tradition of being uninformed, undereducated and using the Bible as their only source of history. Because they are afraid of questioning anything, or learning anything scientifically sound - it would only poke really scary holes (to them) in their carefully nurtured acre of sand they repeatedly put their heads into. I am with you all the way and am embarrassed for our educational system every time I come across such ignorance, which in this forum is daily. A movement needs to start in this country. One that somehow espouses the notion that you can actually believe in science and God at the same time without having your head spin off your shoulders.

To "justaskn": You mistake intelligence for fear. Evolutionists are not afraid of intelligent design being taught in public schools - they are just able to recognize the barely concealed attempt by the fanatical Xtian right to force their beliefs down everyone's throat by giving proselytizing a label they think sounds scientific. Please.

Well if you think about it, aren't the theories about God's existence and the theories about the Big Bang very much in the same boat as truly unprovable? Many creationists would say that we can't prove the big bang because of the fact that we can't go back to it..... then again, many evolutionists would believe that religion is completely void of proof... I think it all lies in your acceptance of other's beliefs. Many religio-nuts are in complete denial about science's massive advances in the understanding of the universe. At the same time, most scientists refuse to even converse about the paranormal or religious ideals that so many people swear to.

Maybe they posses very limited brain power and can not expand their understanding beyond what they were taught to believe.

It does not hurt their brains as much when they stick with Bible study, if they read anything related to science that will cause tremendous migraine headache.

Creationists are the majority of the population and this also embarrassed everyone in the nation.

They do. They pretend not to so they can lie and deny and feebly attempt to "redefine science". They know their arguments are empty, so they are trying to change the basis of argument.

Of course, if they want "true until proven false" for their "god" in the classroom, I have to wonder why they don't want "true until proven false" in the courtroom ("guilty until proven innocent") for themselves.

But what else would you expect from a hypochristian?
