Stage One: Breaking the ice without drowning
Before a man will talk to you he needs to answer two questions: Are you a physical threat? And, are you worth his time? See, men—well, the ones you want to hit on, anyway—are besieged by other women who also want to hit on them. And, quite frankly, we're exhausted. So, don't add to our exhaustion with a cheesy pick-up line.

A little fuzzy on what qualifies as a cheesy pick-up line? Here's a classic:

You: Your father must have been a thief.
Guy: Huh?
You: Because he stole the stars from the sky and put them in your eyes.

Never, ever, ever (ever!) be this girl. No, I don’t care how clever you and your friends think these lines are. Trust me, to a man, they're not. Instead you should use your environment as a cue. If you and your Object of Desire are in the same place at the same time you're in luck. You already have something in common. Even if it's something stupid, like you both need to buy stamps. And, unless you are sitting next to him in the waiting room of a VD clinic, you should use it as an entry point to conversation.

For example, if you are at a music store, ask him if he can make a good recommendation for your sister. (men love girls with sisters … we think it makes you a better girlfriend.) This trick can work well in clothing stores, too. You can also use his environment as a cue. This works particularly well if he has a commentable article of clothing on. No, I don't mean a tight shirt. I mean, like, a Red Sox cap or a Penn State sweatshirt. Ask him if he thinks you're going to have to wait another 100 years for a second victory. Or say, "Hey, Penn State—a buddy of mine went there—how did you like it?" (Yes, you can say this even if you don’t know anyone who went to Penn State. You can tell him about your little white lie after you have your first child together.)

Hey ag--they say fancy across the pond....I think most women 'check out' men they fancy, and if he looks back, they smile. Once you come up on them though, the age and how good they have their head together will determine what they do then!

It depends on the girl ... some will act realy shy around someone they like , others will act like they don't like you (( I would not assume that though ... LOL )), some will flat out tell you and others will act very silent ... you could try asking their friends to find out ... the friend is bound to tell her and if she like you see might tell you since she feals more secure knowing that you might like her ...

they flirt and play around with you ALOT!!!! like play fighting or laughing at every joke even if its corny. they get real girly around you when your around. or sometimes its the opposite. they act like they cant stand your guts, and that only because they're afraid that you might not like them. or maybe they feel like they shouldn't like you so they're fighting the feeling.
