Actually you're wrong.
The fourth biggest military is North Korea. Israel is no where close. That's for starters.
Secondly, Iran and Syria are not providing weapons to Lebanon. They are providing them to Hezbollah. There is a very distinct difference here because Hezbollah is a terrorist organization that actually initiated the conflict.
Thirdly, if you knew about Hezbollah's history, you'd know that Hezbollah's abudction of the soldiers actually goes against what they were formed to do. Ensure that Israel stays out of Lebanon.
You'll notice that Israel got the hell out of there in 1983 and didn't come back. Hezbollah's goal was achived.
So, sit back and think about things from more then one side. I agree that Israel's actions were far too extreme for the situation, however, Hezbollah in essence went up, kicked the lion and ran off so the civilians would bear the brunt of the assault.
Also, you'll note that Hezbollah fighters went to shoot rockets from civilian apartments and homes. This was so that international sympathy would roll in once the counter strikes from Israel hit.
Hezbollah creates the conflict, puts innocent people in the way for their own purposes and doesn't care if their targets are military or not.
Yet the people in Lebanon are so blinded by their own situation that they cannot see the real cause of their suffering. They want to blame israel because blaming their own people isn't socially acceptable.
Complete and utter ignorance. An atmosphere where groups like Hamas and Hezbollah can thrive.

According to UN Resolution 1559, Israel was supposed to withdraw completely withdraw from Lebanon.
Hezbollah was supposed to disarm.
The government of Lebanon was supposed to ensure that both Israel and Hezbollah complied.
On May 24, 2000 Israel withdrew the last of their troops from Lebanon.
Hezbollah continued to rearm with direct assistance from Iran and Syria.
The Lebanese government did nothing to ensure Hezbollah disarmed.
Iran is sending advanced anti-armor missiles to Hezbollah. Iran is sending radar guided anti-ship missiles. These are hardly "pea shooters".
Additionally, the nation of Israel has been under attack since the day it was founded. They either have the right to exist or they do not. If they have the right to exist, we have the right to assist them by selling them arms.

The reason for the American conplains this time around is because the israelites suffered casualties compared to what used to be the case whenever it happened between Israel and Palestinian refugees in Gaza and West bank. They were expecting a total victory without casualties, if that has happened the war would still be on up till this time.

Because Israel is the 52nd state in USA!
No country can give all this support to another country even if they were allies.
Israel is the state that looks after America's buisiness in the region, it's America's client.
Hezbullah has the right to get weapons from all the sources it can get from like Israel is getting higly destructive and internationally forbidden weapons from USA to attack its neighbours.
And for those who said Israel only uses weapons for defense :
What defensive action in killing more than 500 Lebanese children?
What defensive action in keeping 10000 arab prisoners without trial?
What defensive action in destroying Lebanese civilian infrastructure?
What defensive action in invading Lebanon in 1982 while a civil war was in Lebanon on that time?
What defensive action in entering Sinai in 1956 although Egypt didn't fire a bullet on Israel back then?
What defensive action in killing UN officials?
Hezbullah has only small rockets with minimal explosive power and they are primitive if compaired to the Israeli arsenal.
Israel has nuclear, chemical and biological weapons. Don't you think that just having these weapons is a threat on their neighbours and we all know that Israel is full of fanatics and extremests who want to eliminate all Arabs and take their land?
Hezbullah didn't launch its rockets on Israel before Israel has already used air fighters and bombers to strike lebanon.
I agree he started with taking the two soldiers but Nasrallah said that they are ready to return them back if they were exchanged with lebanese hostages in Israel by indirect negotiations.
If Israel did that from the beginning no war was to happen and by the way they are negotiating right now after the cease fire...why not from the beginning and preserve all these lost lives?
Every nation has the right to defend itself . Yhat was the first thing Bush said in this crisis. And I think this also includes Lebanon who can't defend itself against the recurrent Israeli attacks by any means except Hezbullah "their army is too weak, even Botsuana can invade them!"

It's called hypocrisy; while it's okay for us to send the most advanced weapons to Isreal, it's considered to be criminal for Iran and Syria to send p-shooters to Lebanon because our dumb president considers Hezbollah to be a terrorist organization. Besides, I have yet to see any proof that Hezbollah got some weapons from Iran and Syria anyhow. In order for me to believe something, I need concrete proof, not just hearsay from a bunch of fools who are probably making the claim up.

Because Lebanese Hezbollan fighters are using their weapons to attack a neighboring country. Israel uses their weapons for defense first and foremost. Also, the US give the technology publically. It isn't like the US is hiding their technology involvement. Syria and Iran act like they aren't involved, and then send their people to fight.

America is arrogant of course. We are a blind society under the spell of our dictator, I mean President.
Besides the fact that everyone has their own opinion, the truth is that the "Gang" as stated above was formed from lebannon people sick and tired of Isreal holding part of their territory under seige, and were the only ones standing up to the might and power of Isreal and the UN.
I love isreal, but go Lebannon, Id fight for my property to.
