She isn't due for another 10 days. Is the clear discharge a sign of labor or what? And, how long after the clear discharge starts will she deliver? THe discharge has been going on for about three days now.
Doesn't her temp have to drop to 98 degrees and then she'll deliver within 12-24 hrs?
I'm calling my vet today to make sure everything sounds normal, BTW. I gotta ease my mind....

It might just be her mucus plug. Talk to your vet to be sure but you are right about the temperature. You should start taking it about a week before she is due and take it at least once, possibly twice a day until the babies arrive.

They can have the discharge about a week before the pups are due. Yes, her temp should drop to below 99 and she should deliver in 12-24 hours. Are you sure about what date she was bred?

I would call the vet for advice before listening to someone who might or might not have any clue as to what is going on.

I would also keep an eye on the dog, you will be able to tell if something isn't going like it should. Call the vet...you'll feel better.

I answered your last question. The person who said that to you was probably just saying that, some people just do that. Instead of asking people here you should:
CALL YOU VET AND ASK THEM, that will be the fastest way to ease your mind.

I still love mini dachshunds

Combine what you have here with your other post of not feeling or seeing pups move and I think your dog might be in trouble. Get her to a vet to be sure.

well she could be in pre-labor meaning jsut before she actually going into labor. keep an eye on her and she might have her pups early. (that is not uncommon)
