Some Christians are not aware that most people who come here saying they are atheist are just High School/College kids. You can tell by the way speak...they say things like: At least we can think on our OWN...as if they graduated from mommy & daddy and DEMAND respect now. They all have gone to the atheist web-sites and learned a few new words and they ALL use the same little arguements they've learned there..but don't ever take these rebellious children serious...just look at their avatars they use..CHILDREN! Just watch some will refute me with their wisdom...watch out for children playing!

I am not an atheist myself, but I have to say that I have gotten the very same impression of many of those who claim to be Christians here, with immature assumptions about what an atheist even is - they're not all big evil boogeymen, like your mommy and daddy have taught you, you know. If they are questioning things they were taught, it is a sign that they have minds and trust what they tell them. Christians use well rehearsed hackneyed old lines all the time. Maybe Yahoo needs to offer some more adult looking avatars or discontinue them altogether and only allow photos. Not that that couldn't be faked, the manners of speech will always disclose anyone real character, regardless of their age or religious, political or other persuasions. Dummies on the web don't realize how stupid they look or make their cause look as well, and that might even include you.

I'm an agnostic 18 year old. I'm sorry to tell you that it's been proven that teenagers have almost the same level of intellectual development as 'adults' do. I don't know about 'graduating from mommy and daddy', as you so eloquently put it, but most people do tend to form their own opinions as they age. I doubt you agree with your parents on everything, and it's highly likely that you formed some of your different opinions as a 'kid'.
The problem with you is, you're just an intolerant person who cannot handle the fact that not everybody will see things his/her way.
What about atheists who are 20 years old and above? What do you say to them?
Age is not an indication of intelligence or maturity, as has been proven in your case.
Suggestion: Focus on what you believe in, rather than trying to influence others. It's extremely difficult to change somebody's mind around to your way of thinking.
Oh, did I say 'thinking'? Sorry. I know you hate new experiences, which would explain why you've never tried it.

While I agree that there are a lot of posts on every subject that are obviously written by young people, there are plenty of adults who also post.
I don't understand the point you are trying to make. Are you saying that only children would deny your religious beliefs are the same as theirs? Don't teenagers have a right to discuss their beliefs?
Has it occured to you that by the time a child is old enough to understand what they are being told in church and Sunday school, they are probably using their brains to decide for themselves if any of it makes sense?
Think about it. You're sitting in church and you are told that Jonah was eaten by a whale and then spit out, or that Noah had a really big boat and that he and his family took two of each and every species of animals, birds, insects and sailed off while God dumped rain on the Earth for for forty days and nights, and that Moses talked to bushes and parted the Red Sea. Or the big one that Jesus had been crucified but then rose from the dead!
The teenage brain is still forming and they are becoming old enough to question such nonsense as that contained in the Bible, which by the way they are supposed to believe is the actual "word of God".
I would say by the time a child is old enough to understand how ludicrous much of this stuff is, they would naturally begin to question religion. They are seeking their own understanding of why they are here and what they believe happens after death.
They have by now attended enough science classes which causes them to question it all! They have learned that instead of some big guy in the sky creating the earth, that evidence all over the world shows clearly that it was formed by a natural event, like the Big Bang or that evolution was how they got here and how the earth was populated. They are now using their brains to study proveable facts, to become educated and to question authority!
Some will be afraid, ashamed or brainwashed and will not question what their parents and preachers or priests say is true. But others will want evidence, proof, something that makes sense to them to form their own beliefs.
They don't believe in Santa Claus either. So what?
I am not an Atheist by the way, because Atheists believe there is no God and that leaves me with another problem. I can't find proof of a God, but I can't prove there isn't one either! I am a Skeptic. I just don't know. Nobody knows. I do not believe things on faith so that makes me a Skeptic. I am proud of the young people who question and decide for themselves what to believe instead of buying the whole story because somebody else told them it was all true and if you question it, you will burn in Hell for all eternity! Pretty scary stuff.

Hi. I just want to say I am a Christian and have been for a good 11 years and I am now 21. I have a friend that is an athiest and she is 28. I know what you're thinking and I know you're not alone in thinking so... how can you have an atheist friend and still claim to be a Christian?... Well Mr. JustMe, the good shepherd himself hung out with the sinners and unbelievers. How else are you supposed to witness to them. And I really don't agree with the way you are going about your "witnessing" either. Making fun of the atheists and telling them that they act like children, that's going to win them over for Christ! (I'm being sarcastic if you couldn't tell). You are acting like the child here.

19. I've been told that I'm much wiser than my age lets on though. I think so too. If you look at the fights I pick, I put very valid arguments, not just "the bible says so" arguments. My age has nothing to do with my being Atheist. Also, many of the Jesus lovers on here as well are also teenagers. You can tell by how they text-type.
I also don't see how your point was proved. I am the only person from your age group that said they were athiest

And where is your basis for this statement? Are all atheists you've encountered thus far 12-19 years of age, or are you making a sweeping generalization? And the statement about the avatar saying how old they are doesn't make any sense. Can you guess how old I am from my avatar? No. Now let me give you some advice: shut up and quit bashing the atheists. They did nothing to you.

i'd say specific. it relatively is all we are able to be rather. I mean who's to declare that day after today a deity won't come out of the solar and communicate with us. it relatively is totally no longer likely of path that's why i do no longer have confidence it may happen. Calling your self an agnostic atheist is relatively like announcing "properly i do no longer have confidence in gods, yet that doesn't advise that I thoroughly write-out the possibility." it relatively is sort of on par with announcing a similar approximately unicorns or area-teapots, notwithstanding it relatively is the only way of being intellectually user-friendly: you do no longer comprehend, do no longer say which you do. the whole concept of agnosticism is deceptive to maximum folk it form of feels, as maximum seem to think of that being agnostic purely skill you're sitting on the fence between concept or disbelief in the Judeo-Christian god whilst in certainty it relatively is purely a loss of specific place on any sort of matters. it is why you will desire yet another word in there to sparkling it up - ie: you are able to no longer purely be 'agnostic', yet you will properly be an agnostic atheist, or an agnostic theist.

Ok. What makes you feel obligated to attack someone based on their age? It is very probable that the majority of atheist that post here are young adults; however, in general most the people who post here are young adults. I doubt highly you will find a discrepancy between the percentage of atheist posting under the age of 20 and the overall percentage of post done by those under the age of 20.
** just so you know, I'm not an athiest, I just feel that you are wrong to attack someone based on their age. Young or old we all deserve to be able to express our opions in which ever way we feel most comfortable.

Yeah I'm a kid at heart and act a lot younger than my 45 years of age when I get up here and Yippy YahQQ everything-only I try to make certain that my attacks on Christians are not biased by Hate or Prejudice but rather are informative and make you think-I am the lone agressor that is LQQKing for recognition from those that would destroy religions to improve the world because I can see that if mankind unites in its beliefs that it has a powerful tool to continue to carry on the Love that is in each and everyone of us-I don't need God to show me that!

Actually I have read quite a few studies that say children age 5 to 18 are less likely to question their faith than adults.... children still have faith in what they are taught as they grow and it is when we get to an age where the answers arent quite so easy to find is when faith is questioned.... I think perhaps we should stop thinking about what other people believe or do not believe and figure out what we ourselves have faith in or dont have faith in, either way....
