I live in Western New York and have notice that people lately have a total disregard for traffic laws. No blinkers to signal a lane change, or turning, tail gating, runnning stop signs & red lights etc.
There is an intersection near my son's daycare when I get of the local thruway & even if I have a green light I stop to make sure no on is running the red light. I have seen it so many times it makes me nervous.

When did it become ok to break some of the simplest laws in the country???

Our society is developing a disregard for the law across the board. It just shows up first in driving habits. In the "me" society that we have created, the red lights and speed limit signs or for the meek, and we are taught that the meek are losers. We are training our children to disregard laws when we let them play video games like Grand Theft Auto. We make gangsters into hero's, and the bad behavior of our celebrities is lauded everywhere. We are descending into chaos and everyone just shines it on and goes forward to create their own little piece of it.
There are some pretty incredible things that would happen by following some laws in regards to driving.
1. Drive the speed limit, everywhere and every time, and watch your gasoline bill drop by up to 25%.
2. Respect the laws and watch the accident rates drop. Then insurance rates would go down.
3. Drive sensibly and the auto manufacturers would not be mandated to install three thousand dollars per car of safety equipment and the cost of cars will go down.
But nobody gets it. It's always me first, I got to be there ahead of everyone else, I have to look like I am Mario Andretti at the wheel.
Oh well, I have tried to explain it.

When are local Police decided to put there efforts of Law Enforcement into terrorism. I have seen this all over the country and I agree with you, it is out of con troll. I must admit CA is really tough on drivers and cit zen for not obeying traffic and even jay walking. They write up a lot of tickets the motorcycle cops and it brings in al lot of revenue to the town. Maybe you need to go to your City Council and start a Coalition meets with other parents and start making waves. I have shown a example of others that have in the source area. Tickets=Revenue.

Just get a policeman or a squad car to be there, you'll see everyone abiding by the law.
I see speeding down the highway everyday, but if a police car is driving down the highway, no one, not one car ever speeds.

This is why the Dep. of Motor Vehicles always stress defensive driving!. It only takes one thoughtless idiot to wreck yours and your famly's life.

In your case, you may want to bring it to the attention of the police.
