Do what he asks and give him space. but I would keep my options open and not wait for him. Show him your strong and that you don't need him to be happy. He might come around or not but that will show you your answer if he's worth it.

give him some space then...do you ever need space to yourself ? well, guys are no different ok. if you crowd him, he just might disapear from yoyur life. try asking him what he means by " space "....communication is a must in any relationship

Sounds like you're more into him than he into you, and that he perceives you as the clingy type. Put some distance between you and him. Give him his space.

Are u doing most of the pursuing? If a guy really likes u, he wants to spend time with u. Sounds like he doesnt wanna settle for u, he's exploring his options, dont waste ur time, explore ur options as well.
