Interestingly, they still do it, mainly for chronic cases of depression...

To many people, it connotes evil doctors with foul intent, but if someone has been essentially non functional for an extended period of time, then ECT is still used... and it works.

As far as the question is concerned, you have not provided enough information.

I need to know the shag depth of the carpet, and if you could tell me what the door knobs are made out of too, and how many you have... cost may be an issue, and there could be some other barriers to your plan.

I know that asking questions about shag-depth is a bit personal, but it is extremely relevant in this case.

No it wouldn't work, but yes they still do shock treatments. It's called ECT now, or Electro-Convulsive Therapy. The patient is sedated and the electrodes are placed in certain positions on the head. Then controlled current is applied. It can help people forget traumatic experiences in the past and can be helpful for some folks with severe depression.

give me a break. First of all, you're being very condescending to the mentally ill and to the treatment. Secondly, they dont do shock therapy anymore. It's called ECT (electroconvulsive therapy) and it causes small seizures in the brain to stimulate the area of the brain that is not functioning properly when depression is caused by brain function. Now run allong to the kiddie section or as a real question

NO!! ECT is electric shocks in your brain administered by a professional in a hospital. Some people believe it helps with cronic depression. Others report it doesn't work. Its a personal choice for you and your Dr. to discuss. But YOU have the last word!

To answer your question: NO.

They do still use shock treatments. If it works, the advantages are immediate, whereas with medication, there is a delay before it works.

You are very unempathetic,...hope you never have to experience anything like that,..however, since you also have a guilty conscience, based on some of your other questions, you can pay back your debt to society by doing the experiment yourself, and reporting back first hand what you thought. Good luck
