me. It's natural for dogs. You can find certain litterboxes with a roof, so that the cat can go in, but the dog should stay out!

The only way to solve this is to make the litter box inaccessible to the dog by,
-Putting it in a place where only the cat is allowed
-getting one with a cover
-Putting it in a bathtub and also do the trick but if your dog istall he may be able to reach over the side of the tub to get into it
-You could put it in the basement if you have one and keep the door open only wide enough so the cat can go down

I was told in one of my college classes.
Dogs and cats intestines are not very long so their feces still contains some nutrients. Unlike humans where our intestines are really long so our bodies absorb everything out of what we intake. So humans feces are gross and contain nothing of use. Animals intestines do not get a chance to absorb everything they intake. So there is still nutrients or something of use in your cats poop. That is why dogs eat cat poop all the time, they can only smell the nutrients or usefull things in the feces. Sometimes I even catch my dog trying to eat bird poop. I guess you could move the litter box somewhere your doggy can't get to it.

YES!!! AGH!
It's SO gross. But what I've read is this: Cats have a very high metabolism. They tend to bolt their food whole and/or big chunks, like all "hunting" carnivores, and their digestion is very rapid. What this means is that a lot of the value of the food they eat is still in the, er, contents of the cat box. (That's one of the reasons why it's so stinky as well.) And the dog wants that because it's high in, ack, food value.
Try and put the box where the dog can't get at it, or make sure to scoop it every day. When dogs get this habit it's almost impossible to break them of it - it's mostly just a matter of removing access.
Good luck!

Try an enclosed type litter box and put it in a spot the dog cannot get into it. If you have a two story house keep the litter box upstairs. My dogs used to do that until I did what I am telling you.

There is a lot of protein in cat poop, and dogs crave it. I know it is gross, but so is pooping in the yard and sniffing other dog butts, and licking it's own butt. So just don't watch and let your dog enjoy. Also the dog is doing you a favor, you don't have to clean out the litter box.

Sadly Dogs will be that way time to time. They don't easily discriminated food from waste or as suggested is a vitamin deficiency On top of trying to make a balanced diet and exercise, maybe you should try to contact
Cesar Millan from The Dog Whisper and see if he can correct that, it would be interesting if that worked

We call them granola bars. Chewy and crunchy treat for the dogs. Most of mine have grown out of it but if they get near the litter box and mommies not around.... I like to scare them with their head under the lid of the litter box. Make the treat worthwhile.

I know! I KNOW! We had stray cats pooping in the garden and my dogs got WORMS from eating the cat sh**!!!
That cost 400$ for my dogs ALLL to get wormed!! ARRRGH!!!And trust me, even your house-cat's crap is NOT GOOD for your dog!
Can you get one of those litterboxes with the cover--the one that the cat can go in but the dog's head won't fit?
My vet said there's stuff you can put on your cat's food so the poop won't taste good (? forgot the name--they have it at petstores)....
