What is the safest and best way of cleaning a digital camera? With a slightly alcoholic towel? Is it ok to clean it with a slightly wet (water) towel or clean as well?

A slightly damp cloth for the body. But be REALLY careful cleaning the lens.

For the lens I'd suggest:

Blow &/or brush the lens (with a lens brush only) with the lens pointed downward. You want any grit to fall off of the lens.

Then use lens tissue and lens cleaning fluid. Wad the tissue in your fingertips & put a fraction of a drop of fluid on it. Then gently swab the lens with the wet part, and then with a dry part of the tissue. Repeat if necessary.

Do not press directly on the lens with finger pressure, even if there is tissue in between the two. This is too much pressure. Any grit that might be on the lens will scratch it. There should always be loose tissue between your fingers and the lens surface.

No camera manufacturer would reecommend using anything other than a damp cloth for cleaning. My Olympus camera manual says, "Use only a damp cloth for cleaning. Never use any type of liquid or aerosol cleaner, or any type of organic solvent to clean this product."

To clean the lens, use a blower brush and a photographic lens cleaning cloth. Both of which are available at any photo shop.

Special lens cleaning cloth to be sure with special chemical. They sometimes use a special glass with the cameras, that can be damaged if used with water.

Hi, I recommand you to try google picasa.

picasa is a Google's photo software. It's what should've come with your camera.

it can upload/download your camera to your PC.

It can Edit , organise and Share you picture and small video clips.

It's very easy to use and is free, just like Google

Download it free in here:

Microfiber textile works wonders. you will discover those at massive container shops (aim, Walmart, ...) in the motor vehicle area. Eyeglasses many times comprise microfiber textile. No drinks needed, the microfibers sparkling away nostril grease like magic.
