some breeds of dogs are just more prone to tumors than others. Its a natural fact of life. Nothing you did caused the tumor, and you probably couldn't have stopped the tumor either. I'm sorry for your loss

Tumors in animals or humans occur for no apparent reason. some are cancerous and some are not. A tumor is very simply just a area in the body where cell division goes crazy and one cell attacks another and grows and then the body fights back and the dead cells there form a hard mass, the fight goes on between the good and bad cells and the tumor grows as more cells divide and die. No one knows why tumors of cancers appear in animals or humans. Various pesticides and smoke and chemicals cause tumors or cancers, but sometimes its inherited from the parent...
I am sorry that you lost your friend, take comfort in the knowledge that at least he is not in pain anymore, which by the way a dog cannot tell you its is in pain and for instance like us take an aspirin it has to just suffer.

Animals get tumors just like people do. There wasn't anything you probably could have done. Tumors just happen sometimes the animal is just predisposed to get them, or the cells in the stomach just mutated and caused the tumor, there really isn't a good answer and nothing that will help with the greif.
I'm sorry for your loss, losing an animal is very hard.

Without knowing the breed, age, sex of your dog and the type of tumor, it would be almost impossible to give you an answer to your question.
Certain breeds of dogs are predisposed to particular types of tumors. The sex of the dog can be the determining factor, as can the dogs age.
Just like people, older dogs suffer from more cancerous tumors. Some dogs, such a GSD can have tumors called hemangiosarcomas which seem to develop rather quickly and suddenly rupture and lead to death.
If you would like to elaborate, maybe people can give you more information.
I am sorry for your loss and hope that your heart heals soon.

First of all I am so sorry. Secondly dogs and cats can get basically everything a human can (ex..Diabetes and cancers). I dont know if food plays a part in this but its a possibility. Research the brand u used online, some types have been known to cause cancer. Take care and again I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry. Been there too, and it's so hard. What could have caused the cancer, there's no telling. People, dogs, cats, every animal, can get cancer, and it's mysterious. It's not your fault.
You hurt now, but as time passes your sadness will become beautiful memories of your friend. In a while, you might want to think about getting another puppy. You might think you'll never want another dog, but I've been through it and believe me, it helps.
Good luck, dear.

Could just be old age, although you don't mention her age, and bad luck. My dog is 14 and has quite a few fatty tumors, but nothing that concerns us regarding her health.

Heredity, second-hand cigarette smoke...it could be anything. It's just like people. Some people just get cancer and we don't yet know why. If we did know why (e.g. which gene or whatever) we'd be much farther along in the search for the cure.
