These examples are irrefutable. Yet christians keep trying.
Proving, yet again, that thier mythology breeds and keeps hypocrites.

Stop making sense, you'll only confuse them.
During the first 40 days of gestation, the fetus, according to the Talmud, is “as if it were simply water,” and from the 41st day until birth it is “like the thigh of its mother.” Neither men nor women may amputate their thigh at will because that would be injuring their bodies, which belong to God. Thus, according to Jewish law, abortion is generally prohibited, not as an act of murder (the Catholic position) but as an act of self-injury. On the other hand, if the thigh turns gangrenous, then both men and women have the positive duty to have their thigh amputated in order to save their lives. Similarly, if the woman’s life or health is at stake, an abortion must be performed to save the life or the physical **or mental** health of the woman, for she is without question a full-fledged human being with all the protections of Jewish law, while the fetus is still only part of the woman’s body **until it is capable of living outside the woman's body**.
Abortions before the 40th day are permissible as the cluster of cells is considered "like water".

i'm a Christian and i'm against abortion, just so you know. i tried to put as much fact and as little opinion into my rebuttles or whatever you call them as possible.
exodus 21:22-23- i'm not quite sure how this verse is forwarding your point, so i won't answer it
leviticus 27:6-the babies younger than a month old still belong to their mothers. i don't know how much you know of the Bible, but even Hannah weened (or weaned) Samuel before she dedicated him to the Lord. i don't think this is taking away the value of the baby.
Numbers 3:15-16- Numbers 3:39 says there was a total of 22,000 levites. by the time they had finished counting, there would probably have been several more births. also, consider that because of the lack of medicine then, there was probably a higher chance of babies dying soon after birth. it would've been way too tiresome to have to count over and over again because the women were having babies.
Hosea verses- here Israel has been disobedient. before Jesus, God punished disobedience with death a lot. but it's not only babies that die- i think Solomon was disobedient for a while and God punished his son (who wasn't a fetus by then). and a lot of people died because of their own sin. so you can say 'God allows the death of fetuses', but God also allows the death of grown people. it's not only fetuses.
2 Samuel 2:14- again, i think the offspring suffered for the parent's sin. i'm sorry i don't have the verse for you, but in the Bible it says 'i will hate/curse the offspring of those who hate/curse me to the 3rd and 4th generations'. David didn't hate God, but what he did was hateful. therefore God hated/cursed David's offspring because of what David did. the same thing happened to the Egyptians.
Numbers 5:21, 27-28- same as above.
Genesis 38:24- same as above. but also, Tamar and her baby didn't end up being burned. whether it just happened this way or God made it happen, this is not a case of a fetus dying.
have a good day =)

Many of the verses quoted are taken out of context here. If you read carefully the first verse noted, it is talking about abuse, not abortion. It says that if a man beats a pregnant woman to the point of miscarriage, he will be punished.
I would suggest that you read the New Testament. By Jesus' payment for our sins by His death on the cross, many of the old Jewish laws were no longer necessary.
The Bible clearly states that we are known by God while we are in our mother's womb.

To abort or not is a personal choice, and it may be also for medical reasons. With the recent rapid progress in medical science, it is now possible for one to ascertain the condition of health of the unborn and should there be visible or likely deformities, one can decide to abort or the doctor can recommend abortion which is usually done or should be done before the pregnancy crosses the six month period. It is simply wrong for bible or for anyone in the name of religion to say or suggest it is improper or incorrect.

Thank you to the first poster for her answer. The Jewish point of view on abortion is probably the most sane of any religion, and certainly better than Catholic. Since I'm Jewish, this makes me happy.
some of these answers have quotes that are ludicrously out of context. "Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb/ yea, they may forget, yet will I NOT forget thee. Isaiah 49:15" This is CLEARLY a metaphor about G-d not forgetting the children of Israel, his chosen people. It not only means nothing concerned with abortion, it is not even supposed to be taken as a law of any kind.

Yes, I read the verses that were pulled out of context to support your view. Most of the verses had to do with the punishment of the wicked. The Bible is to be read so that one scripture explains another. In Jeremiah God says I knew you before you were born. So if God destroys a fetus, he would know its outcome. Also in all the verses, God is doing the permitting of removal,or allowing man to act at times. This is not man taking it upon himself. You are also dealing with the old testament in which many of the laws have been abolished with the coming of Jesus Christ in the New testament. The question is of innocent life that we have no buisness mingling in.

There is one thing everyone should consider in the discussion about abortion.....show me one woman who has had an abortion who later is not filled with guilt, a guilt that haunts them the rest of their life. (Has even driven some to suicide.) Although a breathing life starts at birth, the miracle of life starts at conception.
God has a part in the miracle of life, not just the birth of life. If you or someone you know is considering an abortion, warn them about the tremendous guilt afterwards. It's something women don't think about until years later.

Here are some that say its wrong.

Thou shall not kill. Exodus 20:13 Deuteronomy 5:17
before I formed theein the belly I knew thee: and before thou came forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Jeremiah 1:5

You have to be kidding. THose quotes are so out of context, it's almost funny.
Note that the first verse quoted is a case of manslaughter, and the penalty for committing manslaughter is the same for a baby as for an adult.
Free your mind.

the bible is highly againest murder, in psalms david says "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb." God made us even before we were anything, we are a person as soon as the sperm and egg attach. think about premature born babies, they are still a person, although they arent fully devloped
