I am doing an article on Exercise crazes of the 70 and 80's...... I am having a hard time finding information about the 80's........I know aerobics was big..........

If you want to go back in time, watch the movie "Perfect" with John Travolta and Jamie Lee Curtis. It's all about the aerobics, and gym-rat craze of the 80's.

Let's not forget the famous song by Olivia Newton John; "Let's get Physical" Ok...how many of you had forgotten about THAT song!!! :-)

Yes, aerobics and running were big - and fairly useless. Weight training is by far better for the body, for losing weight, and gaining muscle, and it's less dangerous than running and aerobics.

More people drop dead doing aerobics than weight training, and more runners and aerobics practicers end up in the emergency room each year due to injuries related to cardio.

Look up Jim Fixx. He was the guru of running, and croaked while out jogging one day.
