Depends on where you live, if you are on the EAst Coast, many states have lots of fun things for families to do. Boston has a wonderful Acquarium and Museum, Salem Mass has history lessons at the Witch Museum and the House of 7 Gables, (lived in Salem wonderful history lessons there). Also in glouchester there is an old castle which you can explore. New York has a wonderul museum there as well with many archaeology artifacts,, Virginia has a wonderful amusement park and Florida well everyone knows DisneyLand or the Theme Parks.

Many parts of Britain - Most cities have historic areas and many museums, art galleries and things to do for children and young people: London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, York, Liverpool, Nottingham, Bristol (and many more). Many more rural areas have loads of history and are very beautiful - most of Scotland, Wales, the Lakes, the Peak District, the West Country, Sherwood Forest, Ironbridge, the North Yorkshire Moors, all the islands around the coast - Inner and Outer Hebrides, Lindisfarne, Isle of Wight, Scilly Isles, Orkney, Shetland etc etc etc

St. Augustine, Florida.
Very historic, beach bonus, close to a ton of surrounding areas that also offer similar benefits. It also provides the ability to be flexible with plans and gives something for everyone's taste.

St. Augustine Florida....Historic, and fun. You can take a nighttime ghost hunt tour which is great...look at the old forts, and see where Ponce De Leon landed, and what he thought was the fountain of youth

Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. It's awesome. You can eat at authentic restaurants from the time period, explore buildings original to the Colonial days, and see re-enactments of events in early-American life. Don't miss it! And, by the way, it's equally fun and more beautiful during winter time, when they decorate all of the buildings in the Colonial style.
