I don't like evil genius anymore. Of course the British speak English, because we invented it. And I think you are taking the piss, that can't be a serious question. And to some other people on the page, AMERICAN IS NOT A LANGUAGE, the language is English, its just you people from the USA are simplifying it. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

The British CAN speak English,as you very well know! I agree it is not always in the correct manner,as we do use slang terms for many words, and/or phrases.Different parts of Britain have local accents and local slang,which is used on a daily basis. I am sure if one was off to meet the Queen,one could speak correctly if one was required to!! I come from down South of England. I have an accent known as Estuary English,but I can speak correctly when required.So there! Il-lejl it-tajjeb !

Of course they speak English. Unfortunately a lot of young people here choose not speak properly, wrongly thinking that bad grammar and punctuation sounds cool, and some of those who can't type properly are on this site.

they do speak english , we american speak it also but just differently . even in the states we have different slang words in different states to say the same thing , example pennsylvania says yous guys new jersey to down south we say YALL
