Need to get Urine test done?

Hello,
My mom has recently come from India,and even i am new here at NewYork,She has symptoms of Urine infection so i wanted to get her urine test done,how do i find a pathologist or any hospital where i can just get her urine test done,i dont want to consult any doctor ,just want the urine test done to find if she has an infection,how do i do it>please help

Simply take her to an emergency room and they will order a test for her. Urine infections are very painful so it's not unusual for people to seek treatment for them at emergency facilities. Also, I don't know your financial situation, but most emergency rooms cannot turn away patients simply because they do not have insurance or cannot pay. Good luck.

In order to have a urine test done you need to see a doctor, or go to local emergency room (although i dont recommend the emergency room since it takes a long time to be seen) you can look for a doctor in the yellow pages, or online. To have a urinalysis you need to have a doctor's orders and thats why your mom needs to see a doctor first, so that they do the test and then prescribe an antibiotic to treat the infection.

Your mother as well as anyone else needs to find herself a Primary Care Physician. Locating a PCP may be the difficult part, because it could possibly take a few weeks to get an appointment. *NOTE: She doesn't need to wait any longer especially if it is an UTI. My best advice for a QUICK visit could possibly be your local Health Department. Wish your mother well.

How would you treat it without seeing a doctor for medicine? No lab will do it without a doctor's order. Go to an Emergency Room.

Here in America, you have to see a doctor to have any tests done.

Go to the ER and she can get the test. But she'll need to end up making an appt for a recheck. Anyway, she needs a doctor if she is going to be healthy, and why come to America if you are too sick to enjoy it! Welcome!
