Is there a way to download and use mysql that will make it behave in a user friendly manner similar to MS Access?

I have an alternate suggestion for you, I use this all the time. Instead of using mysql as the interface use an access data project. You can link it to the mysql database, use the access interface and it won't do things like change your data types. Be careful when importing tables from access into the data projects, the primary key indicator is not carried with it, so you have to go in and reset this in the data project. Good Luck.

Not familar with mysql but *IF* you're wanting a program quite similar to Microsoft Office (which Access is included). You should try OPEN OFFICE. Not only is it like MS Office, it's FREE!

BTW, check the next link for other "Giant Killer" software replcaements
