A great many people simply can’t cope with the burden of being good. However, when they act in ways that are bad, they can’t cope with the resultant feelings of guilt. Try as they may, they can never cut themselves loose from the standards of absolute morality dictated by the Torah. Stuck in this "Catch-22" situation, people turn with their mounting frustrations against the Jews, who they perceive as personifying humanity’s collective conscience.

Sigmund Freud recognized this tendency, and explained: "Jews are hated not so much because they killed Jesus, but because they produced him."

Thousands of years ago, before the Torah was given, people built their lives around philosophies that were based on their own concepts of right and wrong. Then, when the Jews entered the theological arena, they showed people all the mistakes they had been making:

Pagan gods are nonsense – there is only one God for all of mankind, Who is invisible, infinite and perfect. Infanticide and human sacrifice are unacceptable. Every human being is born with specific rights. No one can live as he pleases, for everyone must surrender his will to a higher Authority.

On a certain conscious level, people recognize the Jews’ message as truth. Those unwilling to embrace the truth have found that the only way to rid themselves of it is to destroy the messengers – for the message itself is too potent to be dismissed.

That is what is so irksome about the Jews, and that is why, for some people, nothing less than total destruction of the Jews will do. If Judaism were just another ideology, people could laugh it off and continue on their merry way. But deep in his soul, every human being recognizes the essential truths of morality – people can’t just laugh it off.

Any individual’s claim to superiority bothers people only to the extent that they believe it is true. If someone who is indisputably ugly saunters up to a nice-looking fellow at a party and says, "I’m better-looking than you," what would be the other’s response? More than likely he would simply shrug his shoulders and ignore him, because the comment would not bother him in the least.

If, on the other hand, the best-looking guy in the room comes up to the same fellow and makes the identical comment, that will raise his dander. The reason is that one doesn’t resent people who say they are superior; one resents people who are superior.

That is why the Christians’ hatred of the Jews was particularly intense. They, more than those of other religions, were threatened by the Jewish message. Jews said that Jesus was not God. This statement assumes a "wrongness" about Christianity. The Church Fathers understood that if the Jews are right, and they remain Jews, this implies that Christianity is bankrupt.

Therein lies Judaism’s colossal threat to Christianity. Other groups’ denial of Jesus is a great disappointment to Christians, but the Jews’ denial is intolerable. Jesus came to the Jews! The very group that produced him, those people who had the most knowledge and authority on such matters, those who represented the last word on religion – were the first to reject Jesus.

The Jewish threat to Christianity has nothing to do with their having "killed" Jesus. The source of Christian fear runs much deeper: Jewish existence invalidates the essential tenet of Christian theology.

Because we are all a product of years of mass brain washing to discrimination. Because of Hitler's antics prior to and during World War II, the relationship between the Jewish and other religions has always been a little shaky. The differences in the religions date all the way back to the supposive time of Christ. None the less, there has always been a line between the Jewish and the rest of the world with a mixture of opposing religious beliefs, possibly some guilt or remorse for the atrocities committed. Remember, by human nature, we also fear the unfamiliar and will protect ourselves by isolation.

According to a website page listed in the sources links below, historians have classified 6 explanations:
1) Economic - "because they possess too much wealth and power"
2) Chosen people - "because they arrogantly claim that they are chosen people"
3) Scapegoat - "they are a convenient group to blame troubles on"
4) Deicide - "because they killed Jesus"
5) Outsiders - "because they are different"
6) Racial Theory - "because they are an inferior race"

Keep in mind that these are not my words! :)

Also, my great-grandfather lived in Germany during the beginning of Hitler's command and he has told my family stories of Jewish-German spies, being traitors to their German country. This could possibly be part of the reason why the Final Solution and the Holocaust were put into place (but also keep in mind that not just Jewish people died during these times).

Anti-semitism in the arab world has similar roots to Islamaphobia in western culture. Some jews (I.E. the state of Israel's military) have done very bad things to the arab peoples, and for some reason the Arabs usaully equate all Jews with zionists. As for western anti-semitism, it seems that the jews have made a convenient scapegoat throughout western history, because they were a minority (e.g. Poisining wells, bringing down the german economy,).

I am not advocating anti-semitism, just trying to shed some light on where it came from...

people can be very Ignorant !! The Jews are God's chosen people we have salvation because of them Jesus was Jewish ! The word of God was sent for them and because of thier unbelief and hardnes of heart God provoked them to jealousy so we the Gentiles could come in and recieve Jesus too. BUTTTT God says in His Word, do not boast because they are the original branches.. and if he spares not them he will not spare us..but notice they are blessed over and over by God. Most are very prosperous and RICH !! He has also punished them just like he does us. So as soon as the last gentile (non-jew) accepts Jesus as Lord and Savior He will open the eyes of Jews and ears ( he blinded them to the truth and he dulled thier earsof the Jews to the truth) untill the fullnes of the Gentiles (us-non Jews) comes in. If you doubt this read your bible. God instructs us to love the Jew because of them we have salvation and we will be Blessed..He stated all of Israel will be saved !

i don't know why people hate jews. i personally don't hate any because i find that hating someone because of religion or race is stupid, simpleminded and shows that one has the IQ of -1000. as for the previous aswer of jews hating others, i think it is because they feel condemned for soemthing. i am sure we can relate to a point in our life that we felt that everyone is against us. i feel like that all the time, but i don't hate anyone because of it unless the went out of their way to hurt me. the explanation is simple; the same explaination as to why people hate any other race or religion; pure ignorance, and fear to understand someone else.

And, don't mess with the jews, they will backslap ya upside your head like merry christmas and happy new year rolled into one!
Not your head, but someone elses. Like when they mess, ya know? They've seen more misery & for longer than anyone else on this earth.
