It is NOT Lots of Love!

LOL is Laugh Out Loud. It is used to express something you find humour in.

Similarly there is LMAO which is Laughing My *** Off and ROFL and thats Rolling On Floor Laughing and ROFLMAO is Rolling On Floor Laughing My *** Off.

They're kinda used in rank, by how funny you find something, like:

ROFLMAO - Funniest thing ever!
LMAO - Extremely funny.
ROFL - Very funny.
LOL - funny...

LOL = Laugh Out Loud

Although most people use this acronym when something isn't funny at all.

Also some acronyms that mean about the same thing...

ROFL = Roll On the Floor Laughing

Used when something is really funny.

LMAO (or LMBO) = Laugh My A*s*s {Butt} Off.

Same as ROFL.

Hope that helps a bit. If you have any more acronym questions, go to acronym.com and look it up.

It stands for laugh out loud. It's usually said after a joke and is not usually sarcastic, but English is tricky even for native speakers.
