I'm starting HS this fall and I'm excited but really nervous.

Second only to university in terms of the greatest years of your life. Cast aside your nervous feelings and talk to every single person you possibly can - no matter how odd their appearance or manner may be......

It is the best of times and it is the worst of times. It is freedom yet it is slavery. If college and junior-high school married and had a child it would be high school. You will meet cool people and you will meet idiots. In many ways high school is a scaled-down version of the real world. There are the different cliques such as the jocks, the stoners, the Christians, the sluts and the nerds. There are smaller cliques within these cliques. For example, among the jocks you have the swimmers, the baseball players, the tennis players, etc. But above all else, high school resembles the real world because it is ultimately a popularity contest. If you ever find yourself getting discouraged and you think it is okay because you won't be in high school forever, think again. When you are 30, 40 and 50, life in many ways will resemble the social hierarchy of high school. Don't ever forget that. But don't be scared. Just remember to have fun. Get good grades, play sports, join clubs, date people with similar interests as you and knock 'em all dead.

High school is a mean place. You can be the one doing the teasing or the one getting picked on. Or you could be the person that's like by everyone. High school can also be a wonderful time period in most people's lives. I guess the outcome your enjoyment of High School for the next four years, depends on what you say or do.
You never want to reveal a secret that your ashamed of, or any thing that could hurt your reputation, because once people find it out they can use it to embarrass for your years remaing at the school. Don't even tell people who you think of as your friends, deep secrets, because one day you might not be friends anymore and they spread your secret all over the school.
Be smart about what you do. And who you hang out with.
Its good to have as many guy friends as you want, but just be aware that people are really dumb, and they think a good with a lot of guy around her all the most must be doing something with sexual(at least at my school they think that). NO MATTER WHAT, NEVER COME OFF TO OTHER PEOPLE AS BEING A HO/SLUT/WHORE... ETC to me there's nothing worst than being called a slut when your not.
But overall be smart, safe, and try to have the best time of your teenage life :)

High school is one of those things that you either hate or love. It is all what you make of it. I didn't really enjoy high school. (Just graduated) But that is my own fault for not making the best of it. Whether you hate it or love it remember that it is only four years of your life, and will be over quicker than you think. You have a lot of growing up to do ... by the time you graduate you'll realize ... high school shapes you (even in a small way) into the person you will be later in life. Try and enjoy it!

It's time to be social!!
Besides, you should do your best! Study!! Cause HS goes on and it get heavier.. so take advantage to get good grades so you'll have no problems in the future..
And don't be shy!! I was shy until I was sophomore and I regret being so introvert..
Your are lucky cause you can decide now how will be the best time of your life.. don't screw it with bad habits huh!

Attend all classes show teachers how responsible you are, and if you are really bad at a certain course, seek all the extra help you can get. Even if you don't understand anything, you will pass according to the effort you make. Oh, and also, pay attention in class and when you go to extra help. Show the teachers that you really do care about your education!

I'm also nervous going to be a freshman this year but my cousins husband says theres nothing to worry about people there with you are just going to be as nervous as you are just do what you have to and it will be alright

Make sure you do really good you first 3 years so you can slack a little your senior year.

get involved with everything you can.... and go to every game there is!!! High school will be fun then!
