Why did you give us free will?

The What? I believe in you, I know you are real. I know you in every fiber of my being, but can you please tell me which religion is the true religion? When this system of things comes to an end, I wanna be on the right team with no mistakes or regrets. What religion should I be worshipping under.
The Why? I have grown up in a Baptist Church all of my life, when ever I had the courage to ask someone a religious question I had to wait for an answer that I never recieved. I moved away from home and joined some churches with the same results. Now I am attending the local Kingdom Hall and I am still not sure if that is where I should be.......

If Christianity is supposedly the one true religion, why did you give others the ability to think and create other belief systems, such as Buddhism, and Hinduism?
