Yes , Just give them a call and ask them if you can have the checks mailed to the financial aide offices so you can pick them up there. If there are any questions just tell them you may or may not be in a moving transition but to be safe you'd like to pick them up there. I'm sure this wouldn't be a problem.

The only way you can get more money is if you have independent status and your parents have emancipated you. That is the only thing the gov. looks at on the FAFSA. If they have, then you should already be getting the money you are entitled to. If not, then living on your own will not make a difference.

I think I've heard that the new policy for giving living expenses aid to students who are living alone is if the student is enrolled full-time. I heard that this new policy will not be giving living expenses aid to students who are enrolled only half-time. So if you are enrolled full, then you might get room and board assistance. They might want proof of this(fulltime enrollment).

Be careful though - that nasty Student Loan is a catch 22 situation:
The poorer you are, the bigger loan you need and the bigger loan means a bigger amount to repay and a bigger amount to repay means a larger amount of interest to pay back.
So the poor get poorer. Like me!
