Considering they die, it would be difficult to ask them, right?
Not everyone shoots themselves in the same location, which would make a difference. Some have lived by shooting themselves in the head, thinking that would be the best and fastest way to die, but it wasn't for them. Others die instantly.
No matter, the idea that they commit suicide is disturbing. I recently posted statistics regarding suicide in a question. We all need to do more to prevent suicides from happening because the sad fact is many people become depressed and can be helped, yet don't get the help they need.
When someone commits suicide, they leave behind family and friends that will suffer needlessly. The person that dies solves nothing and the person that bungles their attempt may live with life-long problems.

I have heard that people who get their head chopped off have a few seconds before the head dies. I read once that a man knew he was getting beheaded and told someone, if he knows what is still going on he will blink three times. Sure enough, the head blinked 3 times and then died.

They usually are feeling a lot of pain to cause them to want to commit suicide.
The ones I have been able to ask are usually in AGONY and often more depressed. The guy who blew his face off was very depressed afterwards.

If they succeed at committing suicide then I doubt it. If they fail then lots of pain.

well since you die from a wound it is bound to hurt. Plus if you aim wrong you're screwed because then you suffer.
