I am having a combi boiler installed, which isn't compatible with a Power Shower, therefore my new £200 shower is redundant. Money is very tight, we will need to get a electric shower. How can I make my money back on the power shower? Can I take it back to shop? What "excuse" can I use to the shop? Is it worth putting it in ebay? Any other ideas?

if it was recommended by a sales staff it is a valid reason.
just take it in and say its broken and you want another but dont want the same model seeing the first one broke then change it to a compatible one.

well it isn't working so you aren't lying !!

Doubt the shop will take it back unless it is faulty and it is still under warranty. But since there is nothing wrong with it your only option is to sell it and you may not make much on it either. Sometimes you have to cut your losses. Did you not know you needed a new boiler when you installed the shower. If you are claiming a new boiler on your insurance because the other one failed then you may be able to claim for losses on the shower.

Whoa, hang on a minute.

I take it your power shower is the type with a pump built in?

As a combi-boiler feeds water at mains pressure there is no reason why the power shower pump cant be disconnected electrically as it is only used to augment low pressure systems fed from a roof header tank.

There will be more than enough pressure from the combi to run your shower without the pump running.

Any "excuse" is at best immoral, and in reality illegal. Get your old boiler repaired and stay with the power shower. Save some money at the same time because combi boilers are pretty expensive..

If you're going to buy the electric shower, the shop may do you a very good deal on the trade in. Talk to the same salesman.

if you got it in a sale you got no chance of getting a refund
bring it back to the shop and tell them its broke

Unless it's faulty, or has not been installed, I don't think you have a chance.
