You're RIGHT!!!!! Mexicans DO need to start standing up for themselves in their OWN country!!!!! If not for themselves, then for FUTURE generations!!!!
And you're right about people from OTHER countrys having it a whole lot HARDER than mexicans do!!!! And THESE are the people who DESERVE to be coming here!!!! Those who are waiting and obeying the laws!!!! Illegals are CHEATING these people,by cutting ahead of them!

GEORGINA: You don't know anything about Mexican politics, history, identity and reality. You must remembeer that there are over 100 million mexicans living in Mexico and whose reality is mexico and not coming over here, Mexico is a country with an own life and with an own identity gained my multiple hardenships that have formed today's Mexico, and it corresponds only to its people to determine the future and the country they want. And the country we mexicans want is one fo peace and economic prosperity which has been difficult to achieve under 70 years of the rule of PRI, but today's government headed by Pres. Fox is a democratically elect one. One man cannot change the course of 70 years past errors in the twink of an eye, we need more time. but mexico does not need the complacency or the opinion of the USA to live, to be. Mexico is, has been and will be in the future Mexico, wether you like it or not.

That's the basic consensus, here, their country's all jacked up, and until the people there take a serious no-nonsense stand against some of the problems, the trend towards northern migration will continue.
I really wish there was some way to honestly help Mexico,
but some things frankly people have to do for themselves.

1. Mexicans are moving North in greater numbers than before (allowing for increased defenses and vigilance at the border) because Globalization and NAFTA have wiped out their living as farmers. Industrial crops -- corn and the like -- formerly banned imports in Mexico, are now freely importable. And far, far cheaper than homegrown crops. (The USA workers, meanwhile are being displaced by the Chinese. And they don't want the work Mexicans do. Bush is responding to his industrial constituency in waffling on immigration issues.)
2. Corruption is with us always. There are court systems in the USA that are irremediably corrupt. And, hey, the Supreme Court, as we know from the 2000 appointment of Bush, is not non-partisan as it should be. But on corruption, see the Web site below: Transparency Int'l
3. It's hard to see any people (as in inhabitants of a State) rising up to defeat corruption in the short term. Look at Zimbabwe, which went from respected state of law and order -- albeit pariah for its apartheid and worse -- to bedlam, starvation, theft by government cronies. And nobody can do anything from inside or out. And, hey, what about the US occupation force in Iraq: occupations are notoriously corrupt.
4. One would like to see Mexicans rising up. But the peasants don't have the guns. And if they did, the US Government would be on the other side, seeing them as some kind of communist conspiracy, or narco traffickers. Welcome to Colombia!

You think they don't know that? Unfortunately, they also look at what they'd be inheriting and they wonder if it's worth dying over. I'm not saying home and country isn't worth dying over, but Mexicans, more than almost any other Latino, knows the hard choices made when deciding to support the family. Family is first. It hurts the pride, but they do it anyway. Same applies here. If they could be fairly certain things would change for the better then they would have a revolution. Otherwise, they would rather support thier families. It's that simple.

Yes it would. You are absolutely correct! However, for years illegals have been coming into this country and getting away with it to the point of all us paying the price. As I have been saying ILLEGAL IS ILLEGAL. Why can't people get this?

As a Texan, I can appreciate this question. Unfortunately, I dont know the answer, but I do agree that is something that needs to be evaluated. It seems that the way to improve anything (ie: life) would be to go about it in a way that would be legal and socially acceptable.

Yes it would be better. But what will they fight the gov't with? Beans and empty Corona bottles? Listen.....Mexico is third world dude. Not a lot of resources. They're better off waiting tables at Club Med. i'm going there in December. Will see if I can start the revolution.

I've asked this question before and got flamed as a rcist. But it makes sense. But thoe that want to protect and stand up for illegal immigrants don't want such common sense questions asked.

Finally...a sensible statement on the issue!!!
However if you look at most of them they aint really empowered to do what you're asking...but if you can change that then the country will finally be going somewhere...
