I do believe God gives us all missions here on earth. As a Christian, my mission is to spread the Word of God in the way that I live my life, and show love for all God's children. I am to tell non-believers what I believe, but if they still choose not to see the truth, I am only suppose to love them, and have tolerance for their non-belief. I'm NOT suppose to beat them over the head with the truth, or even drag them kicking and screaming to the Altar for baptism. God wants them to come to Him of their own free will. Some Christian Missions take their responsibilities to extremes and refuse to leave anybody alone. That equals intolerance, which is a good start for hatred and can give Christians a bad name.

I have a passion for Missions, but you also have to remember that God made people different. Some people He did not give that gift/will to. My pastor put it best when he said that God made some people to go and get people and he made some people to stay behind a teach. Not everyone has the gift or the love of evangelism. If everyone was on missions, who would stay around and help others grow? Missions go out and get people, "drop them off" at the church so they can go back out and get more people, and the teachers pick up those that were "dropped off" and help them grow and mature. The New Testament says that there are people that sow and there are people that reap. But God gets the harvest.

I definitely agree that our purpose here is to fulfill missions, and I think we do it every day. Some people go to Namibia to do mission work, but most Christians (and people from many other faiths) do it right here at home. In soup kitchens, hospitals, homeless shelters, etc. Even simply raising our children to know God and be good stewards of faith is mission work, I think.

I don't believe missions is the only purpose for the christian church. I believe it is about preaching to others and showing others Gods love. And mostly do they believe in what they preach everyday. I myself have been on mission trips, I enjoy them and I will continue to participate on them. I truly believe it is up to each individual to show there devotion to God through their own means; be it preaching, missions, or whatever.

Yes, I agree but the one thing people have a tendency to forget is that everywhere is a mission field. Whether it be at work or your neighborhood or the old man that grumbles at you in the grocery store. You do not need to go abroad to a 3rd world country to be doing the Lords work in missions.

I agree that Christian missionary work is important. A thing to note is; just because you will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, does not imply you will BE in the kingdom of heaven. You'll just be called the least there.

Missions come in many forms. Our mission statement is, "sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through love and service to our family, community and to the world".I would add, " fight for justice, for all people".

the whole world is my mission field.
wherever God leads me, i go.
Wherever he goes, i follow.
We are all a part of the body of Christ.
We all have different jobs, and talents.
Use yours maybe not to your potential, but the way God wants them to be used.
Talk to God, but then stop talking, and listen.
He will tell you.
We were created by God, and for God.
