Diet sodas get their sweetness from artifical products such as aspertaime, splenda, and other things. Regular sodas get their sweetness from corn syrup and other natural flavors. Neither is "good" for you, and depending on your health situation, one could be better for you then the other. My son is heavy so he drinks diet, as if he drank regular it would put more weight on him. My mother is very thin and needs the sugar and calories from the regular soda. So there isnt a way to determine which is healthier, it depends on your situation.

While neither is healthy, you deal with SUGAR calories and other ingredients in the regular. The best thing to do is to have very little if at all.
In Diet, there are chemical sweetners like aspartame that have been linked to many ailments in humans - from allergic reactions to cancer.
What I do, is have little of the regular stuff. No diet for me.
ps. Katrina is right. Diet does make you gain more weight in the end.

Sugar vs. sugar substitute is the difference. Diet has less calories, but contains artificial chemical sweeteners. Personally, diet soda gives me headaches, so I say regular.

Calories. Diet Soda has zero. Regular Soda has about 90 if I remember correctly. Diet soda is more healthy and saves you using you calories on the empty calories.

I think regular fizzy drinks have about 6 spoons of sugar in them, whereas diet drinks have none, or very little.
