What I do is on Saturday I do all the groceries for the week. I make a list with the days of the week and under each day I decided what I want to make, sometimes I ask the kids for suggestions. The under that I make a list of all the things needed to make those meals for the week. It makes my shopping experience faster & cheaper. I find that when I go with out a list I am buying things that I wont even use in my meals that week.
Then when I get home from the grocery store I marinate & chop whatever meats need marinating & chopping as well as my onions or peppers, etc... then I ziplock them so that on the specific night of the week, when I come home tired I wont have to do it. I just throw it all together. I love my crock pot. I can put all the fixings in a zip lock and the morning of I pop it in the crock pot and go to work , when I get home my meal is done.
For my meals I can go online to pull quick and easy recipes.

I like making a huge batch of home made spaghetti sauce and package it into quantities that work for our family... Just pull some out in the morning to thaw and make fresh spaghetti at supper time.

Stews freeze well too.

This can also be made ahead:

Easy Chicken Rice Casserole

Ingredients:
2 cups cooked chicken (cut to bite size)
3 cups cooked rice
2 cups cooked broccoli (approx)
2 cans Campbell's cream of chicken soup
2/3 cup mayonaise
salt
pepper
2 cups grated cheddar cheese

Mix soup, mayonaise, salt and pepper together.

In casserole dish, layer 1/2 of the chicken, then 1/2 the broccoli, then 1/2 of the sauce, then 1/2 of the rice... Repeat.

Sprinkle grated cheese on top.

Cover and bake at 350 degrees for at least 45 minutes, or until cheese is melted.

May be prepared ahead - keep refridgerated until ready to bake, or thaw before putting in oven.

I use a CD called One Million Recipes. They have a weekly menu planner which gives you ingredients needed to make all the meals in your plan. From that list I make my shopping list, go get the stuff, and cook it all fresh!! Works for me.

To answer your Q; I don't make a menu plan for YOUR family! LOL!!

it all depends if you're trying to do the healthy thing or the easy thing...pizza freezes and those freezer meals...i dont like em really...fresh veggies freeze well...if you cook chicken and noodles...this can last a good 2 to 3 days if you cook a lot of it....or you can do turkey....then you can make turkey sanwiches, turkey casserole etc etc
