the gifts he received were precious and very valuable: gold, myrhh and frankincense. these gifts were given by the magi so t he could return later in life to the lands/religions/cultures they individually represented. jesus parents saved these gifts until he was about twelve years old, then he began to travel and as he traveled he was recognized as a prince. in effect he was wealthy, very wealthy!

The bible does not say what they did with it.
BTW.
The number of Magi is not mentioned in the Bible record. Nevertheless, Nativity scenes and Christmas songs espouse the commonly held tradition that there were three.
Evidently this springs from the fact that there were three types of gifts. Regarding these, the Bible says: “They also opened their treasures and presented [Jesus] with gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.”—Matthew 2:11.
The Catholic Encyclopedia notes: “The Gospel narrative omits to mention the number of the Magi, and there is no certain tradition in this matter.
Some Fathers speak of three Magi; they are very likely influenced by the number of gifts.”
It goes on to mention that various works of art show two, three, four, and even eight visiting Jesus. Some traditions favor up to 12.
There is simply no way to verify the number of the Magi.

The presents of the Magi have been given in homage, i've got self assurance, incredibly than as birthday presents or Christmas presents. the youngster, the kings/magi/smart men believed, grow to be a protracted-awaited and oft-foretold sovereign whose reign might make greater desirable previous earthly barriers. Their presents of gold, frankincense and myrrh have been alternatives the two cloth and symbolic; signifying the international, the spirit and the afterlife.

These were very expensive items indeed at that time. When Herod was going to put all of the children to death, Joesph was warned. He took the child and Mary, went to Egypt and was to stay there til Herod died. I really don't believe they gave things away then either, do you? How would Joseph possible paid for lodging and food in Egypt? When Herod died Joseph returned, not to his home but went to Nazareth. So the scriptures may be fulfilled. No one had a home waiting on him.

Grace unto you and peace,
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
As to 3 treasure gifts mentioned in Mt 2:
gold, frankincense, and myrrh:
(i) the gold was used for his family to escape to (from their home in Nazareth) and live in Egypt for a few years, since Herod (the king, over Roman conquered Jews) was killing all male children under 2 yrs of age in hope of killing the child the magi called he born King of the Jews (not some conquering Roman king).
(ii & iii) the franincense and myrrh were obviously kept and used about 30 yrs later for his kingly burial in a tomb hewn out of solid stone; notably buried by Joseph (of Arimathea) who notably bought only the linen to wrap the body in.
Interesting thing about such wise men (magi) from the east is they were Jews from Babylon, whose ancestors got conquered and carried away to Babylon 14 generations before Jesus was born, both as both King of the Jews (made under the law) and later became the Christ (the end of the law). And they arrived about 2 yrs after Jesus was born. So the magi did not go to Bethlehem to see any "babe" in a manger (even though they asked where their king was born and told it was in Behtlehem), but rather they went to Nazareth to see the young "child" (toddler) in his own house. For Joseph was not told by the angel to take the babe to Egypt, but rather take the child and flee into Egypt. And there were not three wise men (magi), but notably enough to stir up all of Jerusalem (at festival time) and also King Herod who lived in the Royal City (not in Jerusalem).
The "grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

We know that Mary and Joseph wasn't rich so more than likely they used those gifts on their trip to Egypt when they were escaping from the King that was killing all first born males under 2. It was God's way of taking care of them while they had no income, so to speak.

I'm glad you used the word magi instead of wise men.
It shows you to be a bible student.
Anyway, I'm sure his parents used the gifts to the benefit of Jesus, but since they come from the wicked, they might have disposed of them.

We don't know for sure.
Some believe that Mary and Joseph had to use the gifts to support them when they fled to Egypt.
