If you are trying for correlation, it won't work as an argument for or against whatever religion it turns out to be. Culture and local laws / law enforcment often outweighs the preachings of religion, and affects more people.
Also, do you consider sex as business inherently good or bad, and why?

Just read a thought provoking book on this - apparently it's Asia, plus Japanese men are amongst the highest numbers to pay for sex. Worth a read of the book, it's an eye opener

Hard to tell,
Amsterdam has legal prostitution.
I read that in Iran there is a huge number of women turning to Prostitution because their husbands can divorce them on demand leaving them out in the streets.
But if they get caught they get stoned to death, so that might limit them some.
But I doubt Iran is going to give out stats on that.
Peace!

Legal or illegal? That matters b'cause ALL countries have ILLEGAL hooking that cannot be stopped.
Legally, I can only think of The Netherlands. I guess they are traditionally Christian (I don't know if Catholic or Protestant), but I think they separate Church and State so it doen't really matter.
