Unfortunately they don't. Nature provides this amnesia so that the mothers don't pine for the kittens when they move on to live their own lives. I had taken in a kitten and my friend took her brother until we could find them a home, and when we reunited them about a month later, it was as though they came from different worlds. They went to the same home though, and love each other just fine now.

A kitten shouldn't be separated from it's mother until it's at least 6 weeks old, anyways. But no, I don't think so. I tried that with my first cat because I got him from my uncle's cat. I took him back only 5 months after I got him, and they didn't recognize each other.

no, keep the kitten with its mother until the kittens eat hard food, like regular kitten food, then let the kittens go.

No, they would react to one another like any strange cats meeting. Hissing, swatting, or whatever.
