Depends on where in Canada or the U.S. you're talking about. From the State of Washington to the State of Minnesota there's a land border. There are some fences along the land border, but not one continuous fence. Of course, there are border stations on every road going into and out of Canada. Once you get to Minnesota, however, there's a water border. The Great Lakes separate Canada from Michigan, Ohio, and part of New York, and the St. Lawrence Seaway separates the rest of New York and all the other New England States from Canada.

Well they have different currency
the gun laws in Canada are much more strict
Canada relies on the USA military for protection, development
IMO Canadians see themselves as more European, and that is a supposed to be a good thing
for a physical barrier? Aside from the great lakes? Not much
The language barrier? Unless you are in Quebec, Canadians speak English, heck they even spell English: colours, etc.
Canada has it owns TV network
Canada also has content laws for broadcaster, I think 10% of the broadcast must be from Canadians!
They have their own version of football too
100 meters (metres!) and only 3 downs per series!!
and the Canadian Superbowl is the Grey Cup!
and they have Hockey

The Canada-US border is one of the longest open borders in the world. There are survey markers, crossing points with customs checking stations, etc, and in some areas there are very short pieces of fence and increased surveillance, but historically the border has been essentially open.

At a few places there are fences or barriers, but for the most part it's wide open forest. No walls, no fences, nothing.

No, but their government cooperates with ours to protect the border, and doesn't print pamphlets telling Canadian citizens how to sneak across. We don't have anything like the same number of illegal entries up there. All the same, we need to secure all of our borders.
