Depending on what state you live in, the title transfer should only cost a couple dollars. it's the E-check and plates that may cost a pretty penny. In OH it's like 8.00 to do the title 100% in your name. If you put down family gift, then you can avoid being highly taxed.

Depends on what state you live in. In Michigan, there's a $15.00 fee to transfer the title, then you have to pay to register it in your own name, which can cost anywhere from $10.00 to $100.00 depending on the type of car and how long the car is going to be registered for (Michigan goes by birth date, so if your birthday is in January and you're registering the car now, you'll have to pay for 5 months of registration). Also, Michigan charges 6% sales tax when you transfer a title, so if you paid $1,000.00 for the car, you have to pay $60.00. Some states will waive the sales tax if the car is sold to a family member. Best thing for you to do is check with your state's Department of Motor Vehicles or Secretary of State or whoever handles vehicle registration.

Would depend on the condition of the car. You will probably have to get it etested and pass the other test. If it fails ull have to pay for the costs to repair it to make it pass. That could be quite expensive. All in all, ask ur mom what past history the car has, any accidents, mileage, and other faults that she knows of. btw, range could be 200-3000$ depending on the status of the car.

a million. call your community branch of motor automobiles and ask if there's a time decrease for filing a identify replace. 2. to regulate the identify into your call, you've gotten to record a identify replace: a. on your grandmother, and, then, b. from you grandmother to you. probably there's a penalty and/or interest due if revenues tax wasn't paid in the three hundred and sixty 5 days of move on your grandmother.

Here in Nevada it's $28.25 to get the title in your name, and you can get away with paying taxes by filling out the family sale form.

each state is differant and it's best to have your mom tell license beureu it is a gift that way you pay less tax, than make payments to her monthly, if that can't be done than you'll have to have her make the bill for less than what you paid her for to save again. the cost is usually about 200.00 if a gift otherwise you have to pay state tax on the actual price you paid your mom. best to call license beureu and ask as mentioned each state is differant.

That depends upon the state. Contact your local DMV office; they'll have all the answers.
