Hi, I met a guy from an internet dating site back in April, we have exchanged email, text and the odd phone call. He has told me he works for the police in b-ham as a DS, how do I check this out and make sure he's telling the truth before I meet him????

Why don't you say you love guys in uniform and ask him to send you a photo of him wearing his to your mobile - you'll be able to tell if it's a geniunie uniform and not one hired from a fancy dress shop! I was in exactly that situation a year or so ago, the guy told me he was a policemen but I wasn't sure, so I asked him to send me a pic of him in his uniform (when he was making out he was on duty) and he did.

Don't like the sound of this - 4 months and he hasn't suggested meeting yet? Birmingham is a big place, not sure you could find him but, yes, I would check it out if possible. You are very wise to be cautious.

Im not for sure probaly doing a people search you have to pay for that though.But it gives you everything you need to know such as address,phone number,back ground check.You are smart to do that because the internet is aplace for a bunch of liars

Ask him to prove it. you should check this out but you'd have to ring every nick in the midlands and ask for him! don't meet him on your own for the first time. Alot of guys lie on dating sites or hide things. i met my guy that way and he had hidden stuff about himself. it's taken alot of tears and patience to work it all out

Find out his office number and call up asking for him - You can always hang up before he answers and do 141 so your number doesn't show up - Sneaky!!!
Better to be safe then sorry though.

Call him at work, and talk to him, and if he gets cagey and asks why you are calling him at work, just say you want to suprise him.
