Of Course, everyone has. Has something upset you or are you overstressed? Has something changed in your life? When my oldest son left for the military. I just wanted to stay in bed all day. But you have to realize that you cannot hole up in the house for everything that does not go your way. Or for just any thing at all. If you wish to take a day and just lay around and do nothing that is one thing but it is not healthy to stay inside away from the world just to avoid life. The more you get out in the world and do things the better you feel. Sunshine is a big motivator. So are people and friendly faces. Tell yourself I will go out for just 1/2 hour and then come back. Do it! you will feel more like being a part of the world.

Everyone has these kind of days every once in a while. When the days start to turn into weeks, it is time to find some help for depression.
I feel much the same way this morning, and I know that if I don't get out of the house, I won't be able to accomplish anything, resulting in my being "angry" at having wasted a whole day. Life is too short to waste.
Start out by "hugging yourself". By this I mean doing some little thing you really enjoy....a dish of your fave food, a candlelight bath, reading a good book, etc. Being nice to yourself will help to fight the blues.

My worst day ever, I got into an accident (my fault) going into work during an ice storm. While exchanging information with the other person, I locked my keys in the car, with the car running, and all of the electronics still on. After trudging through a person's yard to ask if I could use their phone (because I had forgotten my cellular), I had my wife and 2 year old daughter come and unlock my car. I turned off the ignition and sent them on their way. When I went to restart the car, the battery was dead, and I had to call my wife again and have her come to give me a jump. The accident had occurred at about 8AM, and by the time I got the car re-started it was almost noon. My wife dropped off my cell phone this time, and I decided to call in sick to work. I should never have gotten out of bed that day.

Yup, I usually force myself out of the house and get some retail therapy, then spend a good couple of hours in the hair dressers. By the time I get home I feel great and I want to go out and have some fun. Or I snuggle up on the couch with my duvet, lots of chocolate and a big hot drink, then I watch chick flicks till I feel better about the world! Pamper yourself and good luck!

I did today, I forced myself to go out in the garden, it was an effort because my heart was so so heavy. i felt like I was never ever going to be happy ever again. I just wanted to crawl into bed and stay there with the covers over my head, but I made myself go outside. It was raining but it did not matter, it made me feel alive. I did just the opposite to what my mind wanted me to do. It would have been so much easier to hide. I think everyone has days like these. If you are feeling like this, I hope tomorrow is brighter for you. Take care.

I have been like that for the past several weeks. I can't deal with people at all. I get panicky, paranoid & just want to run inside, lock the door, close the curtains & shut out the world completely. And that's just walking the 8 metres to the letterbox ! As much as I feel sorry for myself, I feel doubly sorry for you as I know what your're going through. Sorry I don't have any positive answers for you. Good luck.

There are many ppl who want to stay inside all the time...and not face the world....how long has this been happening?...if longer than a few days you, or who you know with this situation....my suggestion to your question is, to seek professional help...that is said from the heart....not critically in the least.....good luck....just don't think you are or the one you know, is the only one with this problem...

Sometimes I like to just stay in bed all day with my eyes closed. It can be hard at times to care about anything at all for some people. But eventually I remember the things I live for. Talking to my friends little sister helps, I can't resist her when she begs me on the phone to come over. Even on the worst days, I'm lucky to have friends that are there no matter what. I'd be dead without them.

Haven't we all had one or more of those days. Call it a mental health day. Stay inside, curl up in bed with a good book, watch TV (but not the news), nap, and just veg out.

I've had many of those dayz..when you are feeling this way, take a cold shower, make yourself a nice meal, dress up and use lipstick. then decide on a location that will be appealing and attentive, jump in your car, leave the house, and head towards life's suprises. never stay at home because you won't experience anything...
