She gets blisters on her skin, mainly on her fingers and hands. Her father had the condition too and he got it from his father. The line stops there. She's been to several doctors and is monitored but there's not much they can do. If anyone knows about it or has it I would love to hear your input. She has a mild case it could be much worse.

The worst thing to happen is epidermolysis bullosa. Its an inherited condition of the skin where there is blister formation on hands and feet sometimes other part of the body also... can lead to deformities. Please consult a paediatrician/ dermatologist. They cant do much about it. Prevention of trauma and infection is the mainstay of treatment.

Other conditions could .... porphyrias an inherited enzyme deficiency which leads to increased sensitivity to sun and leads to blisters on sun exposed areas. sun protection is the main therapy.
Allergic dermatitis... Pompholyx where get tiny blisters that are itchy at times. mostly seasonal in variation. Topical steroids and antihistamines could help.
Many other conditions do exist but you need to meet a dermatologist for the diagnosis... may be a biopsy is required. But let the doc decide that after seeing the baby.

Do you know what conditions these blisters occur under? The symptoms could be any number of things, from petroleum sensitivity (Which appears in my family too, and can be extremely unpleasant) to sensitivity to sunlight. I doubt the latter though, since it doesn't appear on her face.

Try a different soap, one that doesn't have petroleum-based products in it. And see if that helps.

Good luck!

I saw a medical show where these little girls were allergic to the sun. It would cause them to blister, but theirs was an extreme case.

Try doing a search on her symptoms to see what you can find. Many people have found the answers to their medical mysteries this way.
