If your boyfriend was at fault, and had your permission to be driving, and you only have comprehensive insurance, not collision, you are pretty much stuck covering the repairs out of your pocket. Of course, if your boyfriend is half a man, he will offer to pay for the damage he caused.

Get a detailed copy of both your policies and read the fine print. Barring that, contact an attorney.

If it turns out neither insurance is responsible, your boyfriend should pay. If he doesn't offer, break up and file a claim in small claims court for the cost of the repairs.

Unless your insurance is liability only, insurance covers the car not the driver. See if they can meet halfway, but definitely check the policies and see who is liable in that respect. Good Luck!

probably not,,if you,ll read your policy on it,,it explains why it is like this,,usually insurance only covers the drivers listed on the policy,,and also if you just have liability this limits what they would of payed anyway,,you could get a lawyer on it,,but you would be wasting your time and money,,i have had to deal with insurance companies on this issue before, and its a loosing battle,,any way i hope this helps some,,good luck.

Generally if you have collision coverage and had another driver using your vehicle with permission there would be coverage. If your policy only allows for listed divers(very rare) or has him excluded then they will not pay. He should also check with his insurance company, it may be covered under his collision coverage or possibly liablility. Another possibility for coverage would be if his vehicle was being repaired or not able to be driven, your vehicle may fall under a temporary susbtitute clause if his policy allows for that.

If you have him as an occasional driver your insurance will cover him, but other than that they can be real stingy. Sorry about the car.
